I'm back and look where I am - sliped_disk - 04-24-2016

Hello everyone

I signed up to this site at the end of 2013. I was just getting into coding and doing tutorials online. I was pretty inspired by some of the posts on here, particularly some advice I got when asking if anyone else deals with dyslexia and also codes. I got an amazing response and decided to delve into education. I started on a part time mathematics course. At school I failed maths miserably, but this time (I'm in my mid 20s) I finished the course attaining 95% in the final grade. I am now in my first year at college, full time doing Software Development and as long as I get a B or better I will be starting into the second year of a Software Engineering course at University after the summer.

Now with a better understanding on programming I feel like I can contribute on this forum and hope to learn a whole lot more.

To anyone just starting out I recommend following a path of doing what you enjoy, that is how to stay engaged.

Thanks to the whole community

Glad to hear how you moved forward and that the advice came from here. Not many people deal with adversity as well. Biggrin

Interesting double post with the exact time stamp. @Oni, flood control not on?

On topic, welcome back to the forum. It's great to see old members making a new start.

Wow yeah I did not notice that, I was on Tapatalk and got no warning. I don't think I clicked the button twice, either.

Thanks guys! A testament to the support and positivity that makes the forum what it is.

I may look into writing up some tutorials over the summer depending on how much time I have.
After all teaching someone is the best way to learn, I like this image and think it is spot on.

Just as a matter of Interest, what does your username denote, particularly "sliped?".
