OpenVPN is software, not a service.

You need to differentiate between a software client or server, and the services that businesses offer utilising that software.

"VPN" stands for "Virtual Private Networks". It is designed to create a virtual network. Nothing more, nothing less. suggesting that it is "not secure" because it does exactly what it was designed to do, is stupid. The fact that you were ignorant of the issues with using VPN's... does not make it "insecure".

I don't even know why this is making the news. This is common basic knowledge. any one with an ounce of understanding in VPN's and networking could tell you this. It's one of the reasons that I only use private VPN's that I configure and launch myself. the moment i let someone else onto that private network, it aint really gonna be private no more.

But it's being sensationalised because apparently skids gonna skid skid skid and they're too stupid to realise that you can't hide behind a public VPN when you doing fucked up shit. Hulu? Netflix? go fucking nuts, Hacking the government? yous a dumb fuck!

ok, not service then we call it simply software.
next time i read more into it before i will post some things like that, any suggestion where to study that ?

Nailed It right here ^^

In fact, even behind a private VPN connected via "your" ISP, Is not 100% anonymous/hidden. Generally speaking, for 100% anonymity, purchase a second-hand lappy (with cash and no receipts) securely erase the HDD (low-level format targeting the disk sectors), Install a pirated OS (and pirated hack tools that are Intended to be used) and then hook onto a wireless network far from home. The MAC address cannot traced, nor (obviously) can the IP or any Information on the lappy.

To be honest, you're likely alright with TOR or an offshore VPN. That also depends on what you're planning to do.

Also, your avatar is from Noblesse, right?

^ yeah its from noblesse some pretty good manga.
hmm good to know but i think in 1 Year the whole Tor network is under FBI control or even worser they control from the NSA.
do anybody know some other Networks which have the same basic structure like the Tor Network ?
