Looking for Team Members for Koding's Hackathon - insidious - 11-30-2014

Hey programmers of Sinisterly

I was recently accepted into Koding's Hackathon that will take place on December 6th and 7th. I have room for 4 more people. You can read the details of the event here: https://koding.com/Hackathon

I will be participating in the High School bracket, since i'm still in Highschool. Naturally this means the people on my team should be students (HighSchool or less).

The people I am looking for:
2 Frontend Devs (CSS/HTML/Javascript/Jquery) and also decent with designing things (Icons etc.)
SQL/PHP Server guy (Should be knowledgeable in deploying apps and creating database/login/acc for the application)
Backend Dev (Ruby/ Ruby on Rails) Python/Django also preferred but optional
We will be building the app in Ruby most likely, but it's good to be flexible in case anything happens.

I am a Backend Dev/Frontend guy myself. The project itself is still in brainstorming stages. I don't have a very clear idea of what to build.

Thanks! Post if interested

Personally, I'd like to hear more about what skills you have to offer. A lot of the people that fit your criteria likely share the same sentiment.

The OP, which would seem fairly obvious to the casual observer.

What do you know? By no means do I expect everyone on my team to be "Super 1337 Hax0rs". (probably should have clarified this in the original post).

As for what I know myself:

I have been programming for a little over 3 years now. Started by creating websites, and then learnt Java after I realized that I liked to program.
At the beginning of this year I started learning Python, and consequently the Django framework. Then I learned Ruby + Rails. So by no means am I pro. Learning Python and Ruby was easier than learning something like Java for the first time however. Larning the concept and theory associated with Java made it a matter of learning a syntax and the nuances associated with a language.

As a side job I develop websites for small local businesses who need them, not to mention keep my own website, which keeps web dev skills in check.

unrelated and not totally necessary for webdev:
Advocate of OSS and Linux. been running Linux for last two years (Arch ftw), never turning back!

So, people who know the base of something like Ruby/Python/server stuff/ etc. are def welcome

I would apply if my computer hadn't gotten seized recently. Seems like something @Reiko would be interested in

Computer got seized? How/Why? 0.0 Story Time! (maybe for another thread, to keep on topic)

This seems very interesting I would join but honestly I don't think I have time for this with my school work and all.

That's true, it does take alot of time. 48 Hours of Coding, (sleep not included, but I am not planning on sleeping much, anyway). It's an "-athon" for a reason, i guess.
