hackcommunity.com worth - Hustler - 07-02-2014

So I was pretty bored just watching netflix, and randomly wondered how much a wonderful community such as this is worth!
Then I worthofweb'd it, turns out quite a bit :Yuck:

Those amounts aren't realistic at all, HC may be worth a good bit, but not 50k, even if it came with whatever hosting is left, and everything on it.

Seems spot on to me, maybe someone who actually knows will post!!! lol
Is this even approximately correct? @bluedog.tar.gz ?

The problem is finding a buyer, the domain may have good traffic and a lot of active users, but trying to use that to make your money back just won't work, not with this community. Often times it's even hard to keep a site running on the kind of income a forum makes, although that is changing as servers get cheaper and cheaper.

RE: hackcommunity.com worth - bluedog.tar.gz - 07-02-2014

There is no way for a 'site' to calculate the value of this site. For a hacking forum it is quite hard to earn money within legal bounds. Thanks to some large donations from http://www.hackcommunity.com/donate.php?action=top_donors I was able to cover up the cost very well. I learned alot throughout the years with optimising the server to run on a well balanced server (My server before was rougly $180 per month).

As of typing this post I don't have a stable income. I rely on affiliation banners and donations and upgrades. In the end the site is worth for what the buyer wants to buy it for. I don't have plans on selling it for a long time though, as long as I find a way to pay for the server I will do what ever I can.

Well aren't you just the worlds most amazing admin ever  haha
Really good explanation and take on the struggles of hack forum owners, I mean to not have a steady income and still be so dedicated is actually really special!!
Yeah i didn't figure you would ever sell, just curious i guess.
I am glad to hear you got lots of help though! And i will be upgrading very shortly :epic:

wait, @bluedog.tar.gz was not the one that started of HC?

RE: hackcommunity.com worth - Netero_mybb_import16981 - 07-02-2014

No HC had 3 admins I think I mean three owners
Sage was original owner I think
Then Illusion
Then Blue Smile

Illusion had some problems when HC was having problem ,in the meantime blue was helping him(I think I read this
in one of blue's threads).blue was admin but not officially (or had admin privilege to access some stuff)
then blue became the admin Smile

That's what I think Smile
