Yellow, Purple and You. - MiS - 06-02-2014

I'd like to get this out of the way: I'm still relatively new, and it's been almost half a month since I've joined.

Joining a new community is always a bit scary for most, especially when said group is close-knit and have known each other for a long time. When you make that first post, it's extremely nerve-wracking thinking you might say the wrong thing, or give off a horrible first impression. It's not just true for an internet forum, or even online communities, but in real life, too.

When I first joined this forum, I found it from a link in nullchan - I really meant to only lurk like any other new member and maybe post once in a blue moon. But what really struck me was the warm reception I had received, jokes flying around everywhere and how everyone took anyone's post, new member or old, with seriousness and thought. I'm not exactly the most tech-savvy person, so I would have thought it would be hard to find anything to talk about in a security/technology based forum. However, I found myself logging in more times than I thought, looking forward to what discussion (or trolling) might happen today.

Today, I've earned both the Elite and Super Elite title. I personally don't feel like I've really earned it through being here long enough nor having enough post activity, but I'll give it my all to make it so. This site, in the short time I've been here, is more than just a forum, it's a community of open-minded, amiable individuals who can make even a newcomer like me feel at home. I regular this place because I want this site to continue that culture to the next batch of new members looking to learn, make some new friends or talk about whatever.

I'd like to personally give out my gratitude these people:

@Oni - For helping me find this place in the first place, and always caring about his community.
@Customer - For your friendly and warm attitude both in nullchan and Sinisterly, showing me the first impressions of both places.
@Duubz - For your eagerness to help new members like me learn new things, being an inspiration to keep on pushing forward no matter what anyone else says, and being the first to donate such a generous amount that I could hit Super Elite.
@Saikou and @cr33pyguy - For making the IRC an entertaining and enjoyable place for everyone.

And the rest of you, Sinisterly, for just being who you are. With the deepest sincerity - thank you. I hope that you all can continue being an inspiration to others like you have done for me.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we're glad to have you. The impression you made on me, straight away I felt inferior. It's just the way you say things, it made me feel like... I can't even explain it. You're a very intellectual user, and also an amazing person. Welcome to SL. :')

GG @MiS I joined in the same month as you and you've been promoted to Super Elite already. Nice going, you deserved it. I feel really inferior now.

At least you're not the user that's been here for almost a year, has the agless award (over 500 hours in forum online time), and didn't get Elite until nearly 6 months after joining. Eh, I set the record for the first default to have ageless, though.

Congratulations, @MiS, you really deserve it. You are very affectionate and kind, something that most people on this forum lack (Sorry, Oni, but you know it's true), and are always so enthusiastic.

Made you feel like there's always someone who you can trust, fall back on, or even explain your problems to?

Haha, excellent job man, you got S.Elite before me Wink
I hope you stay online and active, you're counted as a regular now... Sometimes I even feel like you're an oldfag here, but then I remember that it was like only a couple of weeks ago that I responded to your introduction thread.

Hey, I've been a member for way longer than you and I only got Elite in January/February. The frickin Econ resets wiped my wallet clean on here, so I had to get really active to compensate. (And anyway, they happened while I was inactive, so why care? Fresh start, right?
