Amazon Chargeback In Progress - denisTenis - 08-22-2024

Hey, I bought multiple expensive items from Amazon and gave the order to a refunder because I was uncomfortable with the order amount (~3k €). He got my account OFM`ed (what a gal!) and I decided to take it in my own hands. Raised a chargeback claiming DNA, the courier delivered the package to me in person, but I didn't sign it. Now Amazon is claiming that I did indeed sign it and is fighting back the charge.

Researching this topic, I found that people had success if they included chat logs from Amazon support saying the order will be refunded. I know my chances are slim, but do you guys have any other proven ( or experimental ) methods for chargebacks? Also, how the hell is Amazon going to prove the signature, even though I didn't sign it?

They have no case against you since you didnt sign it. Did it state that the package had to be signed? Also which delivery company was it?

I thought the same, but OFM said the package was signed at the point of delivery, so it had to be the driver, right? It wasn't stated in the delivery message, nor in any message from Amazon that it had to be signed. It's a small delivery company that only delivers in Eastern Europe.

Not sure if Amazon has the same view, however when a courier signs/leaves a package without you being there or signing for it, the chance of a successful chargeback is much higher.

Your Bank/Credit Card will almost always side with their customer, so long as there isn't a signature or a photograph of your door or any other undisputable evidence that the package has been handed to you in person.

I hope so, I'll update the thread so others can adapt the method. Thanks for the reassurance.

Yeah your chances of getting the chargeback is way higher if the driver faked a signature. It might also just be a scare tactic but im not sure hoe amazon acts there. Amazon once lied about having a picture of my package infront of my door and when i confronted them about it they gave me a refund 😅

do you mind sharing the delivery since Im from EE as well? Have they contacted you directly (the courier i mean)? that always seems scary to me

If the courier contacts you, just tell them you didnt' sign for it. They can't prove that you did - since they dropped it off without you signing.

you have chance to win this case, write how it went, I think many people will be interested

After roughly 40 days, I won the dispute and have my money. Amazon fought back, but after my bank challenged them, they did not respond a second time, thus winning by default.

I suggest not abusing chargebacks as banks will flag your account and declare you a liability, but with caution they can be a life saver.
