Yes, it is like you just described

Box the return.

My question is as follows: say they give me a DHL label, and I edit it (remove all information except bar code, change address to other nearby business), won't they just use the barcode to get the actual address and deliver it there? Is that not how it works?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yep that was how it worked in 2018.
Now it's a whole different game, you HAVE to edit the barcode information too, instead of editing it yourself and messing it up, I highly suggest using a known FTID service, it'll only cost you 15-25$.

Thanks for the information, do you know of any services?

Sorry mothered I followed your advice for years but I think it's time for me to try out this "ftid" people keep praising. I mean I have nothing to lose, I'll just get some dry ice for another attempt if this doesn't work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Respectfully, I have never understood why people would use a refunding service. Why not just learn the methods yourself and do it independently? You will save even more money that way.

Most people don't know how to edit the label properly from certain couriers (Fedex/UPS) for example. This is a big reason why this method is nowhere as good as it used to. The good refunders know how to edit the barcodes properly which increases the odds of it getting delivered to the "edited address".

A lot of FTID actually gets to the original business (failed).

Exactly, people think FTID is just editing the shipping address in Adobe Acrobat Lmao.
You need to learn how to decode Maxicodes & PDF417 barcodes and write new data into them, there's also custom scripts that must be put in place directly into the barcodes for some scans, it's not 2018 anymore. There a reason why the people who knows how to edit are running up 100k a month just off charging people 15-20$.

I do find that rather interesting. I had learnt how to FTID free from resources found online, everything is so easily accessible, all you need to do is want to find it bad enough. I haven't failed a single FTID since *touch wood*. I guess people don't like taking risks aswell.

Your FTID is failing doesn't mean the SE will fail. Because the 2nd part of this method being successful is how organized the company with their return/communication.

You are just editing the address/written information on label (if you are using those online guides), very few couriers go by address written on it. It's the hard coded address on the barcode that they deliver to and they can't release the package unless they are around that geo location. So even if your FTID (fails) and gets delivered to original address you can still get away with the SE depending on the company, because they may think it's a random/spam etc. Although, some couriers are easy to FTID because they only have one barcode (tracking) and they deliver based on address on label.

For example, FTID won't work with Best buy direct because their returns actually cordinate and take their time, But it will work with place like Amazon.
