Leica? - shadowshaymin - 05-04-2023

I'm wondering about the best way to approach a Leica SE for a £4000 camera. Have any of you hit Leica themselves? Is £4000 too much for DNA? They use DHL, who are much easier than other couriers.

I've previously SEd a few cameras using the wrong item received method. No value is too much for DNA, as long as they're unable to prove that you've personally received the goods and the company isn't responsible for loss of goods. Where are you planning to SE?

Did you use cheap cameras for the wrong item received method? Was it for a bigger retailer or a photography-focused seller?

Looking to buy from Leica themselves as they're the only business I can find that sells them. All other sellers are individuals on eBay (which I'd naturally never SE).

Update: I chose DNA but they're sending by UPS, not DHL as they stated on their site. I recently SEd UPS a few months ago for £1000. Should I abandon so as not to raise suspicion?

No should be fine as you'll be dealing with Leica not UPS

And will Leica not be asking UPS to investigate what happened?
I don’t believe either are too naive.

Yes, most likely an investigation will be opened with the carrier. If it is low value they might decide to "pretend" to open a carrier investigation and not follow through with it, asking you to call back in a couple of days where you will get a refund. I have personally DNA'd more than once a month for each carrier, including UPS, on lower value items and there has not been a problem.
