Airpods Max replacement? - aelizia - 04-24-2023
Hi all, last year i bought a pair of airpods max from airpods max that have now broken (no physical damage to the eye, but it cuts out in the left ear all the time) and they are out of warranty.
Would ordering the same color headphones on amazon and sending back the old broken pair in the box work? I doubt they check serials but thats just my assumptions.

great! thanks. Yeah id honestly just say "they do not play audio in one ear" and hopefully that is enough. Doubt they'd ask for me to speak to Apple about it (but i have done already) so i wouldnt be lying to them even if i said i had lol. Thank you, ill be doing it soon.

To my knowledge they check serial numbers, at least in Italy

To my knowledge they check serial numbers, at least in Italy
hmm now that is slightly more worrying, i know the airpods max serial is only a sticker on the side when you get it, or you have to pair it with a phone to view it. maybe i should just put the sticker on the headphones and hope that is enough to sway them?
@Rare Justice Emperor do you think i should just return it "legit"? (through orders page) or go on chat with a rep and say "my headphones are not working in one ear" etc...
headphones arrive tomorrow, so i can get cracking asap

i dont think they will check, they get millions of returns every day. i would believe they would come after u if they follow a paper trail.

I can tell you that a friend of mine tried this method with his used Airpods (1st or 2nd gen, I don't remember) and Amz denied the refund because the serial number wasn't matching. However this was in Italy and it might not happen with your order, let me know if you have any update

but then there is no real way to prove it right? If i say i sent back what i was supplied, how do they know that really i am not actually doing that?
