Unresolved Amazon Refund Issue: A Year-long Struggle - Jail_Bird - 03-20-2023 Hello, I have been dealing with an ongoing issue with Amazon.de regarding a refund of my order. I returned(FTID) the items almost a year ago, but I have not received a refund or a satisfactory explanation for the denial of my refund back then, so I started talking to them again now which is almost a year later. Amazon seems like they never received the package so the method worked, however something else seems to be blocking this process. Let me explain further. Amazon sent me an email stating that the Apple devices from my order had not been received at their returns center, and therefore, they could not process or issue a refund. I responded by expressing my concern and dissatisfaction with their handling of the situation, and I requested that my case be escalated to a supervisor or a manager. I mentioned that I had been in communication with my lawyer and that we were prepared to initiate legal proceedings if necessary which I hoped would increase my change to push the issue at least a little bit closer to a supervisor at Amazon.. In my email response to Amazon, I highlighted the following points: 1. Amazon is the owner of the return label, and I am unable to communicate with DHL directly regarding the package status. 2. The prolonged delay in processing my refund is unacceptable, as I returned the items nearly a year ago and still have not received the funds I am owed. 3. I am currently without both the items and the funds I paid for them. 4. According to German regulations, customers have the right to a refund after returning items via a prepaid return label. I requested that Amazon provide the exact term of use or term of service that applies to this denial and the specific German or European law that they are relying on for this decision. However, Amazon's response to my email was unhelpful and reiterated that they could not offer additional insight on the matter. I am now seeking advice from others who may have experienced similar situations or can provide guidance on how to resolve this issue. I was thinking, was there some error I have done, or are there any ideas of what I could do right now to further proceed with this issue? Thank you for the help. Ftid+apple products just screams I am scamming you and companies like amazon are well aware. You haven't done anything wrong, just that amazon are being amazon in this case. Have you tried phoning them instead? Is a chargeback feasible? However, each time I called, I was informed that my case would be transferred to another department and that I would receive an email with further information. Unfortunately, these emails have not provided any satisfactory resolution, and the situation remains the same. Keeping me in yet never-ending cycle. I hope there is a way to come out of this still, because as you already mentioned, I do want to be able to FTID apple items. This for me is a testing account where I can do anything without losing as it's already failed. Only possibility is to gain a refund. As for a chargeback, I am aware that it is an option, but I would like to exhaust all other avenues before resorting to that measure. I believe it is essential to give Amazon the opportunity to resolve this issue correctly before taking more drastic steps.. Hopefully you're still within that time frame. RE: Unresolved Amazon Refund Issue: A Year-long Struggle - jefff - 03-20-2023 You won't win this case. FTID will not work on an account that has been taken over by OFM. Confirmed. I had the same case where after delivery of the item they closed my account and even though they didn't find an FTID envelope they still didn't grant a refund despite 2 months of trying. They kept saying they wouldn't give a refund until they received the item. They check the weight of the package and see that it was empty. I appreciate your input on the issue with FTID and OFM. However, I believe there may have been some misunderstanding. In my experience, I have successfully obtained a refund for an account taken over by OFM and continue to fix similar issues. The issue I am describing in my thread is different from what you mentioned. The problem is that Amazon claims they never received the return even though tracking shows it was delivered. Thank you for sharing your experience and I apologize if my previous messages were unclear. Hello @AlreadyRRich, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the chargeback time-frame in the US/CA. I generally try to avoid chargebacks whenever possible. However, I did reach out to Revolut for assistance in case the seller was unresponsive and the transaction became too drawn out. Revolut assured me that I could always refer back to our chat for help. Thank you again for your input. I understand that it worked out and I understand your pain but unfortunately I went through the same thing. I even contacted the consumer ombudsman on this matter, only after 2 months I got specific information from OFM that they checked the weight of the package with the carrier and it was empty. FTID only works if a customer service representative gives you a refund after chatting or over the phone. If the case goes to a higher department seriously, it will fail because they have access to information such as the weight of the package you sent. Hello @jefff, I understand your concerns, and I'm sorry to hear about your experience with Amazon. However, I'd like to clarify that my situation might be slightly different. My primary goal at this point is to engage with Amazon and explore various options to resolve this issue. I'm not giving up just yet. In fact, I view this situation as a game where the better player wins, and I enjoy a good challenge. As you suggested, I may look into relevant German laws and regulations to strengthen my case. I will also discuss this matter in a hypothetical form with a very good friend of mine who happens to be a lawyer. Together, we will try to figure out a possible solution to allow Apple devices to be refunded again. Additionally, I would like to reach out to @mothered, who is known to be the best and most experienced member in this forum. If you have any input or suggestions for my situation, please feel free to share them. I'm open to trying out different approaches, even if they involve some risk, as I believe there's not much to lose at this point. I'd also like to assure you that my FTID process is quite meticulous, ensuring that the weight of the package is consistent with the original item. As such, it's unlikely that Amazon can determine the contents of the package without opening it for further investigation. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences, and I hope my response provides some insight into my current approach. Any input or advice from @mothered would be greatly appreciated as well. Best regards. RE: Unresolved Amazon Refund Issue: A Year-long Struggle - Jail_Bird - 06-20-2023 90 Days passed, I still keep going back and forth with amazon support. Makes no sense at all. RE: Unresolved Amazon Refund Issue: A Year-long Struggle - ruonis55 - 06-20-2023 You should have started a chargeback, you would easily win it. Yeah you have to wait, but it's better then getting into a wall with Amazon. Yeah, from my sources the FTID on Amazon.de is kind of patched, because sometimes it works, sometimes it's not, it depends on your account credibility and etc. |
