APPLE WARRANTY - Danteraz - 03-18-2023 Have any of you tried to carry out the boxing method with Apple regarding hardware warranty service? Let me tell you the situation, as I previously mentioned about a "double refund with Amazon Mexico" for 2 iPhone 13 Pro Max that were replaced and then refunded to me. Well, it turns out that one of the iPhone 13 Pro Max was stolen and I was thinking of requesting the hardware warranty, which I already did, to see if I can apply the empty box method. Do you think it's possible, and if so, do you think the lost phone which was stolen will be blocked or something? what do you think? @mothered? Yes, the iPhone I'm referring to was refunded by Amazon. However, as I mentioned before, it was stolen from me, but that was over 6 months ago, and since I still have the box, I was thinking of trying to request a hardware warranty with Apple. I already submitted the request and emphasized that I wanted to send it by courier, because they referred me to a specialized technician who has a connection with them here in Culiacan (where I live). But I convinced them to send it to Mexico City, so I filled out a form with them, and they approved the warranty service, and directed me to a specialized service where I registered the information they requested. They promised to send me special packaging to put the device in and then send it to the warranty service. What I want to know is whether it would be possible to apply the empty box method in this case? The courier service is through them with a customized label, so I have to avoid sending it myself, but they will provide me with the packaging and the shipping label. The question is, will it be possible to apply the method in this case? Also, do you think they will block the phone of the thief who stole it? ![]() ![]() ENGLISH ![]() @mothered RE: APPLE WARRANTY - Danteraz - 03-22-2023 Regarding what I was telling you, they have already contacted me to make the shipment of the supposed iPhone for the claim, and they sent me the following document. Apparently, I think there is a possibility of applying the boxing method, or I don't know what you think. I would like to know your opinion? @mothered

RE: APPLE WARRANTY - Danteraz - 03-22-2023 Yes, the "secure" container to return the device is already on its way to my address. I have two questions: Do you think dry ice is necessary to put inside the secure packaging given the weight of the iPhone, since apparently I only have to send the phone and not the box, but I will make sure to ask? Do I have to request that the driver come to pick it up for VID to work? I'm not sure if you saw the sheet that says to request the driver's signature upon receipt, and I imagine I could forge the signature. How can they know that I actually signed it? When the package arrives, I will upload photos of what the container looks like and any instructions that come with it so that everyone can see. Can you let me know which method you think would be best to use, if you don't mind? @mothered RE: APPLE WARRANTY - mothered - 03-22-2023 (03-22-2023, 10:35 AM)Danteraz Wrote: Do you think dry ice is necessary to put inside the secure packaging given the weight of the iPhone, since apparently I only have to send the phone and not the box, but I will make sure to ask?Only a minimum amount of dry Ice will be required. "Please make a photocopy of the return guide so that the messenger can sign it along with their name." and "Please DO NOT seal the box with any other type of tape (brown tape) that is NOT the security tape labeled inside the kit, otherwise the kit will not be received at our facilities. Take photos before sending the box." Quote:Yes, sorry. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not really sure which method would work best, but I imagined that the boxing method would be the most appropriate. However, that's why I'm asking to see what opinion people with more experience recommend.(03-22-2023, 10:35 AM)Danteraz Wrote: When the package arrives, I will upload photos of what the container looks like and any instructions that come with it so that everyone can see. About "vid", I was checking the CHATGPT chat history and I realized that I made some spelling mistakes, haha, so that's why there was an error. On the other hand, I thought it would be easier to use the method if the courier employee picked up the package because I thought it would be easier to prove that there was tampering during the transit. So, does this mean that I can take it to the courier's offices and it won't compromise success? Quote:(03-22-2023, 10:35 AM)Danteraz Wrote: So, should I ask the courier to sign the return guide? Regarding the instructions that came with the package, the following images show them, which I will leave below so that you have a better context of the situation. As for how to close or seal the package, what would be the most appropriate way to do it? Because I suppose I have to make it look like it was tampered with, as I understand it? @mothered ![]() ![]()
