Empty Envelope Fail - Ashitbag - 03-02-2023

I sent an empty envelope return to Adidas because I read on here that others had success doing so. Well I got an email saying they received my empty envelope with no items and to please return the items for them to process a refund. Anyone think there is any way that I can salvage the SE or is it game over?

Are you in the US? and did you try to return the items and just send back an envelope

Nope, not in the US. And just sent an envelope. Another user reported this working for Adidas in the US.

That user was me. Might be because you are not in the US.
Did you use a bubble envelope roughly 6x9inches or smaller or just like a letter envelope?

I've done it with about a dozen retailers and while not every retailer worked I never received an email telling me they received an empty envelope.

You can try an FTID envelope return.
Or go to the carriers website and get the proof of delivery of the envelope and initiate a chargeback showing they received it.

Don't give up and message me for more help.

Also was the envelope completely empty or did you put the paper that details the return they sometimes tell you to put in the envelope? I never put that paper in the envelope.

Careful of ftid if in uk. Expect a letter in post from debt collectors in few months if you do

You used the so-called FTID garbage, correct?

If you're referring to Adidas rebilling, that is due to the on scan SEs people did last year. Obviously, if you do FTID, match the weight and postcode.

On the shipping label you attach to the empty envelope, wouldn't there be information that identify you as the sender? So if they do check it'd be easy to know the return is invalid.

It was indeed you. I sent a bubble envelope, a little bit smaller than that but a similar enough size. I just put the label on that, but it had the order no. on the label as all return labels tend to. I was going to scratch off a piece of the order no., but I thought it might affect the refund potential. I didn't put anything inside. When they received it I got an email saying they would check the contents and when all was confirmed as in appropriate shape I would be refunded (I think it was an automated email on first scan). I got another email a few days later saying they only receive an envelope. I said it was attached to the box with the items for return but they are disputing that, again connecting it to a previous refund (that is why the initial DNA failed). I am disputing it with PP, but I assume they will dispute that too. I will update my situation if any progress is made. Will see what I can do to salvage, but my odds don't look amazing at the moment.

I literally just sent an empty envelope with the return label. I did not alter it, so I don't know if that counts as 'fake tracking ID'. Other people reported success with the same company, my DNA failed, so I though why not give it a go. lol
