SEing eBay - the right way - EquitableEngineer - 01-20-2023

Having already lost an eBay account to eBay's itchy trigger finger I am apprehensive about doing any kind of dirt with the account I am currently using in fear of another ban. I have even avoided common but slightly grey strategies like dropshipping on my eBay account out of fear. That said though there are a lot of big fish that sell on eBay - Curries for example - and feel like it would be a waste not to hit them.

To that end does anyone know if eBay would be notified or involved if you order an item on eBay from Curries but then proceed to call / message them directly outside of eBay's ecosystem to perform the SE? When the refund is issued do you know if this is information eBay would be privy to or not ? If not then you could probably hit a lot of big companies selling on eBay without affecting your account.

What’s the best weight to SE on eBay? Also I wonder if eBay would back curry’s as it’s a big company 🤔

The best way to SE will depend on product and company. The idea here is to circumvent eBay completely and do the SE via the retailer directly despite having bought through eBay. If you do the SE through eBay then you are limiting yourself to only a few as eBay will eventually become suspicious of all the refunds on the account and they are very quick to ban you for the smallest of infractions.

This thread is specifically about SEing big companies through eBay in a way that is scalable. If you plan to DNA them once you should be fine but I am not personally a proponent of that method. Too many potential problems and fallback.

You think DNA on “ curry’s “ eBay store would work?

I dont see why it would be any different from DNAing them directly on their own site but again... not my style
