CPU + GPU methods - Injera - 11-05-2022

Hypothetically to SE a CPU and GPU
I was planning on using Amazon/Walmart/Microcenter

CPU: 13th gen intel (13600K, 13700K, 13900K)
Would empty box work? I can't find the weight of the CPUs anywhere but I've read that they are between 40-80 grams. The 9th gen 9900K cpu from intel apparently weighs 26 grams

GPU: DNA wouldn't really work, I do have a 6700 XT graphics card which I could theoretically use the wrong item method. However I've had it for a while now and didn't purchase it with the same account. Is there another method suited for this kind of swapping?

On the grounds It's not visible externally, It's perfect to EB It.

Is It due to where you reside and how the package Is accepted?

Disregard the wrong Item received.

Swapping aside, Is It packaged with a factory seal?

@mothered
I had just heard that Amazon fights tooth and nail with CPUs specifically with the EB method. While I don't mind filing a police report (although it makes no sense to do so) I've heard that often it would need to be disputed by my credit card company/bank and that seems like a hassle/would take quite a while.

And yes, I don't think DNA would work as my apartment has a package locker that is always recording and requires photo + signature to open the locker and retrieve the package

"Swapping aside, Is It packaged with a factory seal?"
Do you mean the GPU I intend to SE? Or the one I currently have. Both are packaged the same I suppose, let's say I wanted to SE a 3070 ti from ROG. From what I can see on YouTube the box is taped shut but not fully sealed, the gpu comes in an anti-static bag that is also taped shut but no other seals that I can see.

The Issues when EB'ing Amazon, Is the ridiculous request for a PR and (at times) the need to return the empty box.

It's pretty straightforward, which Is why It has a high success rate particularly with AirPods and Apple Watches.

Then the DNA Is out of the question.

Do you mean the GPU I intend to SE?
Correct.

RE: CPU + GPU methods - Injera - 11-06-2022

PR obviously doesn't make sense. But what's the harm in returning the empty box? Just the lower resell value?

I'd found that as well, why do airpods/apple watches have a higher success rate than CPUs/other EB items? Is it just the lower weight?

The GPU is not shrink-wrapped in plastic if that's what you mean. The only type of seals I can see are on the outer box and the adhesive on the anti-static bag within the box which holds the GPU.

They probably need It to bring It to the attention of the manufacturer.

Predominantly due to the lower weight.

Even 15-20 grams less can make a difference In a successful outcome.

If It contains factory seals that requires to take them apart to open the box, then the sealed box method can be used.

Of course, the box must be fully covered In cardboard.

I just returned the box on a EB attempt (bestbuy, logitech mouse). The refund is in progress, do you think this will hurt my chances?
In general should I avoid sending the box back if they ask for it?

I see. So when EBing Apple watches it's better to go for the lighter ones. Some of them can weigh more than CPUs
Are there any other light, high value items suited to EBing other than airpods/applewatches/CPUs/SSDs?

The timing Is too close to hit two SEs.

There's no harm In returning the empty box, unless of course you need It to sell the Item.

Solely EBing the watch case has a very high success rate.

The Series 7 Is only 32 grams.

Too many to mention.

Definitely too soon for the same company. I was planning to SE for a different company, unless best buy/walmart/amazon/microcenter have some sort of central database?
I've been racking my head thinking and can only think of a few other than the four I listed. IEMs, lighter gopro models, watches, sunglasses, and jewelry all work? And do you have any other favorite items to EB?

Collectively, they don't.

Can't generalize, It depends on the Item weight.

For Instance, define "lighter GoPro models". The term "lighter" could be anything.

There are many tech-based Items and apparel that capture my Interest, but the first port of call when EBing, Is to Identify the precise weight.
