Apple Ipad Pro SE - Gunshotglamour - 07-16-2022

Soo, got myself into a bit of a pickle here. I "have" a 5th gen ipad pro, decided to contact apple and let them know it wasn't working. This quickly turns into "dispose of faulty item" method, which I realize may have been too soon. Basically told them the lithium polymer battery swelled, there was a substance of sorts coming from the backside, and my son received marks we werrent sure of as chemical burns yet. The apple rep tells me I'm ok to have disposed of it as it's completely understandable. But someone has to call me in the morning. Ok. Talk to her, she tells me that last rep was wrong, they can't do anything with the replacement without having the defective one back, because they care about safety, the engineers have to find out what happened. Ok ,fine. But I tell them I've seen horror stories of lipo's exploding, and I'm not going to keep it around. So I say I will begrugingly go out and grab the tablet.

Shit! It was garbage day, they took it. Darn. So she says she will review what the previous rep said as ihe encouraged getting rid of it. She comes back and says I have one of our safety coordinators/engineers , they want to take care of this. Yay someone who cares about my sons hand! She's very pleasant, basically tells me the ipad wont explode, so next time, just hold on to it if I want a replacement. And tough luck, try to get the tablet back or you don't get a replacement.

Guess who managed to get a hold of the ipad from the reclycing truck?? This guy! But here's where I'm at a loss, I have photos of the tablet, perfecly in tact. No batteries exploding, can't find that shit online, pretty sure these dont do that ever, and this is why they are so sketch. But I'm gonna roll through with it and wanted to get opinions if at all possible before she calls me in the next couple hours.

I am very obviously going to say the ipad is crushed now, no evidence that it did what i said it did. I am going to have pictures of my son's chemical burns that we had to go to the doctor for. If needed. I just dont know where to take this. I am glad I possibly saved it, I realized I needed to wait for a replacement to be sent first, then I can just box them or something. I was hoping they would do the whole "1 time exception" thing, but they've been real hard pressed on people actually keeping these faulty items that cause a safety concern and harm.

ANy tips? I can't even find a crushed m1 ipad online, its like they dont exist. Any chance I'll succeed?

You can still box them by sending the faulty item for inspection, and when they see that the ipad isn't in the shipping box, then it was obviously tampered with in transit complete with a different set of tape covering where one of the courier warehouse workers cut into your package to take your Ipad, and Apple will have to re imburse you since they said you had to send the item to them for inspection.

The first rep got me boned, I don't mind doing the photos, but my story says the tablet is crunched, and unrecognizable. I suck at photoshop. They said if there was an injury they can look into replacement but that requires me writing false medical records. I do a lot of unethical things but I'm not sure I could get away with falsifying that. They seem very interested in getting me to call my bluff or actually figure out if the ipads do this.

I solely want to do it just to do it. Any tips of photoshopping realistic effects? Ha

You can burn your hand a little and then go to your doctor and explain the situation and that you need written records of the injury so you can get your money back from the iPad and sue apple. And then threaten to sue them in an email

I mentioned it was my son so they want pictures of his hands and doctors note. I may falsify them unless others chime in with that being a terrible idea.

I'm going to write a note, but not necessarily as a doctor. Theyll be an actual doctor, just possibly deceased atm. Kind of scared of this part because it could turn into a shkt show.

I remember there was a guys on the forum offering photoshop services, you may give that a try or just look around, you will find many people that will do it if you pay them
