Amazon UK iPhone 13 Pro Max Blacklist - johnnyboiog88 - 05-20-2022

This is just a quick post to inform people that I SE'd an iPhone about 6 weeks ago, been working fine until about an hour ago and upon checking, the phone is blacklisted now. So the rumours of .co.uk blacklisting phones is true.

If anyone is able to assist me with any services etc. that can help remove the blacklist (if they exist) it would be appreciated.

I am also looking forward to SE myself an iPhone. I am also afraid of the phone getting blacklisted, so I would go with something like this for my SE (maybe this will work for your situation also):

1. SE an iPhone (from Apple, Amazon etc.)
2. Buy the same iPhone (color, storage space, etc.) from a local tech company.
3. Swap the Phones (only the phone!) at home.
4. Bring back the SE'ed phone to the local tech company.
5. Profit?

You've than legitimately returned the SE'ed (risk of being blacklisted) phone and got yourself the "good" one.

I would be careful with the method. I would recommend to reseal the box and then give it back! They won't double check the phone if the box is sealed

I was considering ordering a new phone from Argos and sealed boxing it by putting in the blacklisted phone.

@mothered do you know how rigorous Argos are with returns? I have the stickers ready for it

Argos tend to thoroughly check open box/package returns, but not so much with sealed goods.

Of course, and as with every company, there's always a possibility of opening the return.

Sealed box method in this case can work. What about foil on the screen? Are you going to put it there? In case if they open a box to check what is inside.

Anyway, I found something like this. I didn’t check them btw.

Just a simple idea: imagine you buy another iPhone from Amazon with different name account etc. and say that on arrival you found it with broken screen. They will ask you to send it back for a refund, at this stage you take the new unblocked iPhone and keep it for you, and break the screen of the blacklisted one and send it back. If there is NOT any serial number on the phone itself, it should take too much work for them to fix the phone and check the serial number, hence it may work

Have you pursued the SE?

Sorry I forgot to update this.

Yes I did.
Argos delivered the phone the day after, the seals on the phone were a bit funky looking anyway, I opened the seal with a hair dryer and got it very hot, replaced phone with blacklisted one and it got picked up the same day.

The refund is now in my bank account and I have not heard anything from Argos, so I would mark this as a successful SE.

I have reported my bank card as lost in case they try to recharge it, I’m not sure if it helps against that but just a precaution.

This is a SIM unlocker, for phones that come branded with a certain carrier and can't be used with any other, it doesn't remove the blacklist
