Various successes SEing Amazon.it - Ordnael92 - 05-16-2022

Hi again for my 2nd thread on this forum!  Biggrin
This time I'd love to share various stories about my SEing successes on Amazon Italy (where I have a pretty solid account, with over 150 purchases made since 2013). I'll discuss them by method used rather than episode by episode.

1) EB method: this is the first method I ever used in a SE and the one I've grown most familiar with.  The most notable instances of its use were:
  • 140€ worth of a 512 GB SanDIsk Extreme Pro : this happened even before I knew about what SE and the EB method were, as I still hadn't ever read anything about them! I just thought to myself "let's give this a try. Worst case scenario they deny me the refund, and I'm actually in need of that SD ".  I contacted them right after receiving the parcel (right after Xmas 2020) and told them it was empty: they didn't bat an  eye and refunded me straight off. That's what triggered my interest in getting to know more about this kind of "Amazon magics"  Evil
  •   250€ Bose earbuds: given a 9g weight I was quite sure nothing would go wrong. And I was right!  Wink
  •   Various minor items costing 10-20€ at best. Shaving blades (big packs that are going to last me a lifetime!), phone cases... I didn't want to give them the idea that only somewhat expensive items were getting lost.
  •   I dunno whether to count this as part of the EB method or not. I ordered a smart power strip weighing 670g and, for the first time ever, Amazon simply applied their adhesive stamps over the actual power strip's box (without putting it inside any of their usual Amazon paper boxes!) and shipped it like that. Anybody could've just opened the box and taken its contents! I send them pictures of the box and told them there was a rock in it:  they didn't bat an eye and refunded me in seconds.

2) Battery leak: I ordered 2 of the same bluetooth portable amplifiers in 2 different orders, at a week's distance (first one was hugely discounted, the 2nd one was at a much higher yet not full price - I also bought different colours). After 2 weeks from the 2nd order I contacted Amazon via chat stating that, while using the amplifier from the 2nd order, I heard a pop and, as soon as I went checking, I got  leaking battery acid on my hand. I had some Photoshopped leaking amplifier photos ready, just in case (even a couple of my hurt hand from a previous accident I actually had years before). A couple of agents asked me to send the leaking amplifier back, even though I repeteaedly stated that was against the courier's TOS. After 1 hour I finally got talking to a smarter guy who simply issued a refund without asking for any return  Wink  no proofs were asked for whatsoever, by any agent!

3) Wrong item received: I bought a tablet cover in a Chinese physical shop but damn, it fitted my tablet horribly. I saw my dream cover on Amazon (quite overpriced, too) and ordered it. As soon as it arrived, I proceeded to return it stating that I had received the wrong item (specifying it was the wrong color). The cover I had physically bought didn't fit the plastic box of the Amazon-bought cover, so I just stripped all adhesive barcodes from it. It evidently was a totally different cover: brand, color, model... everything was different about it. I didn't contact Amazon via chat at all, I just sent that back. And I got a refund!  Sarcasm

All of the aforementioned deeds were done with no less than 1 month of time between one and another, with at least 2 legit purchases done during that time.

That's it for now. I have many plans in store and will probably discuss them on the forum later on!
Thanks for reading and a special thanks to @mothered , whose tutorials gave me lots of awesome ideas and put me on the right path to success!

P.S. everyting you read above is a work of fiction!

This Is the fifth successful SE I've read today.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Nice combo, in fact your post reminded me that I should try hitting AMZ for some Pixel Buds, at 53gr they're perfect EB material (and they're probably an easier claim than the usual Airpods)

The wrong item with you returning something that wasn't even sold by them might've gone through because it was cheap enough, I guess they do a better job checking in case it's a more expensive item, but good hit nonetheless

Yeah, and I wouldn't do that again. I don't want to raise any suspicions over such small sums of money and have my account more prone to getting flagged in the future (although I always take all possible precautions).
