[Question] Wrong Item Received - melo435 - 04-14-2022

For example, let's say I buy another item from a different account that has the same weight as the item I want to refund.
Both of them are bought in the same store, but in different accounts. I understand that.

My question is: Is there any chance of, lets say, Amazon to see that the other item was bought in other account?
If so, do they ask anything or do anything to the person that bought the other item?

I appreciate any type of help, @mothered.

Can't do much, it's not like you can ask a customer to return an item you wrongfully sent them, they have all the right to refuse doing so

Yes, they can obviously see the Item was Invoiced to the other account.

Quote: do they ask anything or do anything to the person that bought the other item?
They may question It, but the person who purchased the other Item Is "you".

But won't they ask the person who bought the other item anything?
Like to return the item, what has been delivered, etc? @mothered

You're the person who purchased the other Item from a totally different account - which Is the wrong Item you've claimed to have received.

I understand that, @mothered.

I was asking in this scenario: my friend order some AirPods from his account. I order other item from the same store with the same weight. When my friend replace the item and sends it to the store, they'll be able to see that I bought it from my account.

Won't they call me or investigate what I received?

Won't they question me anything about it?

I'm a bit skeptical about doing this method since I still don't know what could possibly happen to the person who buys the item to be replaced.

My favourite method. Nothing happens to the other buyer in my experience.

In a nutshell, this Is how the wrong Item received method works.
  • You purchase the Item you're planning to SE.
  • You purchase the wrong Item from the same company on a totally different account and sent to another address.
  • When they request the return, send the wrong Item that you purchased from your other account.
  • The company will scan It, see that It's part of their Inventory and assume they've Incorrectly packed It with your original purchase.
  • A refund will be Issued.

In the above scenario, you're the person behind both accounts - there are no ramifications to anyone - no one else Is Involved.

Isn't this method possible in the situation I mentioned, @mothered? (My friend buying the item to replace)

Sure, once they scan, they will find out it was his account that purchased the wrong item to replace.

But won't they contact him in any sort of way to find out what he has actually received?

What I was hoping to find out was what are the implications once they found out that it was him who bought the item in the first place.
They might think he got my item for some reason and contact him about it, or even investigate him.

That's what I was really curious about.

You're complicating the method which Is not good practice.

Follow It as stated In my previous post, and you'll be fine. If they question the other account, It's "yours" so there's no risk whatsoever.
