SE Dell Monitor return - Raccoon - 04-05-2022 I managed to get me shipped a Dell monitor using just a serial number I found, but they have said me that after a few days as of the monitor arrives to me, they will send a courier to collect my faulty monitor, which of course I don't have. Unfortunately I didn't know that they will ask for it and I used my real address and name, what do you suggest to do now? RE: SE Dell Monitor return - kevinadams - 04-05-2022 Assuming the faulty monitor which you don't have is the same model and weight, you should use the boxing method with dry ice. All you need to do is find out how much the monitor weighs. Then replace the weight of the monitor with dry ice. You will also need to make the box appear as if it has been tampered with. Don't damage the box, but make an incision large enough to retrieve the item and cover it up with a different coloured tape from the rest of the tape throughout the box. Essentially, when the box is handed over to the courier and they scan it, it will log the weight, which will eventually sublimate due to the nature of dry ice. Once Dell receive the package and it is scanned by them, the weight will also be updated. But since the dry ice would have sublimated during transit, it would appear as if the item was stolen. An investigation will subsequently be opened, be patient. Good luck with your SE. Inconsistencies with the package will be noticed at the collection point, which will release those handling the shipment from liability. Moreover, depending on the size of the monitor (a 24 Inch Is 14 kg) It's also too heavy, thereby extremely difficult to accurately calculate the dry Ice sublimation time against atmospheric conditions and transit/storage time. You should've used fake credentials and a drop. However, i doubt u can do that anymore but you can always try it again (at a drop addy) Anyways, i am curious now and i want to try this. Do you mind sharing how you did this? RE: SE Dell Monitor return - mothered - 04-18-2022 @Raccoon, any updates? I contacted the support and told them, that I got rid of it, since I got electrical outlet sparks when tried to plugged the monitor in, and I freaked out about it. I got some photos of a serial number of a Dell monitor. I went to their website, contacted the support and told them the monitor was not working, they asked me for a POP(fake it) and some pics of the item also of the SN on the back with a note with your name, date... (photoshop it). That's all after that they proceeded with the AR RE: SE Dell Monitor return - mothered - 04-30-2022 (04-30-2022, 12:31 PM)Raccoon Wrote: I contacted the support and told them, that I got rid of it, since I got electrical outlet sparks when tried to plugged the monitor in, and I freaked out about it. Just as a matter of Interest, how did you circumvent the return? The disposed of the faulty Item method? |
