CURRYS CPU SE - Fguinan1 - 02-18-2022 Hi I am wanting to SE the company curry’s, for the product INTEL Core™ i912900K Unlocked Processor. I am wanting to do the empty box method. This product costs just under 600 pounds. I’ve tried finding the weight of the cpu itself and i can’t find it. I know that similar cpus weigh around 70 grams which is a good weight for the empty box method. Although on Amazon it says it weights 420 grams. Could this be the weight of the box and cpu together? The cpu can’t been seen externally BUT the box has a very odd design as you can see inside the box but the cpu chip itself can’t be seen. Any cause for concern? I could also maybe go with the boxing method? Any advice to add to the SE? RE: CURRYS CPU SE - mothered - 02-18-2022 Quote:Although on Amazon it says it weights 420 grams. Could this be the weight of the box and cpu together?I haven't checked. Is It listed next to "Item weight?" Quote:The cpu can’t been seen externally BUT the box has a very odd design as you can see inside the box but the cpu chip itself can’t be seen.If the CPU cannot be viewed In Its entirety, then you're good to go. That's provided the weight Is within the EB/missing Item method's weight bracket. RE: CURRYS CPU SE - Fguinan1 - 02-18-2022 Yes the listed item weight is 450g. But surely this can’t be the case as a cpu isn’t usually that heavy. Recently just checked on the curry’s website https://www.currys.co.uk/products/intel-core-i912900k-unlocked-processor-10230074.html On here which is the link I’ll be ordering it from. In the specs it says 4.6g so I’m confused now. Gonna look at a couple other website to compare RE: CURRYS CPU SE - mothered - 02-19-2022 (02-18-2022, 04:33 PM)Fguinan1 Wrote: Yes the listed item weight is 450g. But surely this can’t be the case as a cpu isn’t usually that heavy. There's no way It's the weight of the CPU Itself. At an educated guess, I'd give It 85 grams max. It's packaged In a 6 Inch circular disc with padding, whereby upon opening the disc, the CPU Is neatly placed and protected. I'd say the 450 gram weight you've mentioned, relates to all that. Due to the nature of the packaging, the EB/missing Item method Is well-suited. RE: CURRYS CPU SE - Fguinan1 - 02-19-2022 Thankyou for the reply. ![]() I’ll be going with this SE and will update how it went when completed. Just remember that the CPU Is sitting In the circular padded disc, and cannot be viewed without opening It. Given the CPU Is extremely light and will not Increment when weighed, the EB/missing Item method has a very good chance of succeeding.
