Failed eBay SE - Datswansguy - 01-26-2022

I’ll keep this short n sweet ... so basically, I attempted to do the EB method on an eBay store (USA) for some 2nd gen AirPods. They concluded that the package hasn’t been at all tampered with, so there’s nothing that I can do - apart from ‘file a police report’ (which wouldn’t even help me). Any suggestions moving forward?

Are you using the EB manufacturer error method? If so, tampering of the box doesn’t proof anything. Tell them the manufacturer probably left out the contents of the package and that the carrier has nothing to do with it.

Yupp that’s the one, I was gonna send them messages back and argue the case more, but my assumption is that they won’t budge. I was thinking what comes next? An eBay claim, followed by PayPal?

eBay claim, then pp claim, then cc claim. Insist on your storyline and your SE is far from failed.

I wanted to save my pp claim for bigger items, but I guess could do for this too. Thanks for your advice Smile

It's not relevant to what you've claimed - opened the unscathed box and the goods were missing.

What gives you that Impression?

They said that quite a few other claims of a similar nature have been made recently, so I guess that they’re wising up to the SE. - I’m gonna try and use this against them though

Every claim Is assessed on a case-by-case basis, so their comments pertaining to other claims Is completely out of context and not relevant to yours.

Keep pushing them.

They seem to be pretty sure that it’s fraud on my part - they said there’s been a lot of fraudulent activity with AirPods recently. Now I’ve taken a more ‘mechanical’ approach, asking them to actually prove the AirPods were there

How does their history of fraudulent activity solely and purely relate to your very own claim? This Is targeted at them and not yourself.

They're Indirectly accusing you of fraud without evidence to substantiate their allegations. Essentially, It's a defamation of character and should not be taken lightly on your part. You have every right to hammer them with these details.

Good.

Ask them to provide evidence (photographic and/or otherwise) that, without a shadow of a doubt, clearly demonstrates the goods were Intact during the time of dispatch, to when the package was In storage at the carrier's depot and then travelling through their network, until It was finally dropped off by the driver at your premises.
