Amazon SE Predicament - decay - 10-23-2021 My DSLR camera arrived a couple of days ago now, The weight of everything was 1.5 kilograms. and the price was around £400. What SE method should I be using here, 1) FTID (mothered's fav SE) 2) Wrong Item Recieved 3) Other Following mothered's advice, I was going to use the Wrong Item Received method, not a problem. BUT finding something of a similar category of similar weight is proving extremely difficult. Remember I need around 1.5 KG. Any help would be appreciated. RE: Amazon SE Predicament - mothered - 10-23-2021 Quote:3) OtherIf the packaging Is suitable, you can use the sealed box method. When I received the item I had taken it out of the box with extreme care. The box the camera arrived in didn't have any tape or anything on it. And the box without the camera itself weighs loads due to the documentation and user manual inside. If I rq to send back the product, do I pack it all back up with the box and everything (just without the camera itself obvs) and put a return label back on. I assume once they receive the item I will receive a refund, and they will not open the box to check the contents. unless it looks like it has been tampered with ofcource. All is good, BUT if I return it and they do decide to check the content, and they see no camera isn't it pretty obvious that I am attempting to "scam" them, and can't they take it further pretty easily. Additionally, if I do receive the refund and another customer buys the product, they will receive the product without an item. This can very easily get tracked back to me and then they can chargeback the refund, which is what they had done with my mate. Is FTID worth it in this or just chancing my luck with wrong item recieved of something of a lot lower weight? RE: Amazon SE Predicament - Pudada - 10-23-2021 I actually returned an empty camera box back to amazon… this was way before I realised that SEing was an actual thing. I didn’t weigh it correctly but Amazon issued the refund once the parcel was picked up by their carrier… but I did then get an email saying I’ve returned an empty box, I played dumb but just kept getting the same email saying if I wished to dispute it, reply to the email. Which i did do… but kept going round in circles and ignored the emails in the end. This was after quite a few very successful SEs with Amazon on that account, then I got an email saying something along the lines of there’s been frequent returns/refund on my account and will be monitoring it. So now, I just use that amazon account to buy things I’m actually in need of and willing to pay for, just to keep it going and maybe in a good few months, I’ll start small on there again. Thank you for the information. This is the problem with empty box IMO it is very obvious on your intentions. Might just try do FTID with a letter and hope it works. You've (seemingly) returned what they've originally sent. Who's to say the buyer who purchased your return, Isn't doing what you did? SEing the company? Read the article on my blog, It explains everything pertaining to the sealed box method from top to bottom. I've personally succeeded with It on every occasion. RE: Amazon SE Predicament - decay - 10-23-2021 I will be doing Empty Box Method for this item thanks to Mothered's help. I will keep this thread updated with every single process. @mothered From here what do I do, prepare the box and just get an return label, put it all together and take it to a local post office for collection? Are you referring to the sealed box method? Please clarify your plans. Oh, I think I have confused the 2 LOL By empty box I meant sealed box, my apologies Misisng item method wouldn't work in my case due to the weight being around 1.5kg RE: Amazon SE Predicament - mothered - 10-24-2021 (10-24-2021, 11:58 AM)decay Wrote: By empty box I meant sealed box, my apologiesAll good, no problem at all. In answer to your question below, that's precisely what you do. When you've resealed the box, be sure there's no signs of tampering whatsoever.
