New method - Absolutelyseething - 09-17-2021 OK, so I have an idea for a new method. You order an item and have it delivered to your place. You then call the delivery company and say you have received a package for a person that no longer lives there. If they offer to come collect it you either fill the box with something of adequate weight or just hand them an empty box all together. You then contact customer service of which ever company you ordered from and state you have never received your item and you think you might have had it sent to an old address. Hopefully they offer to send you another/refund when they see the original package has been returned to them. I guess its not new, more of just a variation. But it takes the responsibility off you for them getting a empty/box full of junk back? Let me know what you think! So what happens when the carrier asks for the order/Invoice/consignment number, cross-checks the details and Identifies that It belongs to you? Perhaps should have clarified, the original package would be addressed to a fake name at your real address and the replacement would be your real name at a different address (friend/family). Not sure why the carrier would cross check things because you're only contacting them to return the package that isn't addressed to you. Unless you're referring to when the company you are ordering from questions why the received an empty box or w/e and the carrier opens an investigation. Probably an extremely flawed method but it was something that came to me this morning whilst eating my cheerios and was curious to see what you all think. Either way, the Information Is cross-checked for administration purposes, package allocation and cost of freight - which will ultimately Identify the account holder of the original purchase. OK thanks for your input. So is there any way it could be refined to succeed, or is it dead in the water? RE: New method - ziiark - 09-17-2021 i know what you mean but everything is at your name so you cant do this RE: New method - mothered - 09-17-2021 (09-17-2021, 12:52 PM)Absolutelyseething Wrote: the original package would be addressed to a fake name at your real address and the replacement would be your real name at a different address (friend/family)Refunds/replacements are obviously Issued on the account on which they're claimed. Your example above has two different sets of credentials (different names & addresses), so on what account will you claim the replacement, and how do you justify that It relates to the original Item that was shipped? Yeah I get what you're saying. Ah well back to the drawing board. RE: New method - mothered - 09-18-2021 (09-17-2021, 06:18 PM)Absolutelyseething Wrote: Yeah I get what you're saying. Ah well back to the drawing board. It's different If It were the same name and two different addresses. 1. Order the Item to be sent to your real address. 2. Before the package Is shipped, contact the carrier and request a redirection to another address (preferably a drop). 3. Pickup your package from the other address. 4. Call the company and say It didn't arrive to your real address. 5. When they say It was redirected, tell them that you didn't authorize the redirection. 6. As such, the company will assume that someone else arranged It with the carrier. 7. All In all, you didn't receive the package at your real address, hence a refund/replacement will be forthcoming. That's simply a basic example, there's a lot of preparation Involved. How would you explain to the seller, why you ordered the goods to one address with one name and you want the replacement to another address and to another name? Normally with Amz if they approve your replacement claim they will create the replacement order to the original address and name stored in your account. |
