SE'ing questions - K03NT3S31N - 08-08-2021 Hello, I would like to buy a Dashcam for 90 € at Amazon. The Account is in good standing (9 payments in 2021, Last Refund in 2019). In my SE career, I have only experience with DNA so far, so I would probably use this method for the Dashcam. But I also read myself a bit on the Socialengineers.net page and dealing with other methods. After reading a few, questions have come up: 1. When do you use the 'Boxing Method' and when the 'Sealed Box Method'? Actually, these two methods differ only in that you want to disguise at the Sealed Box Method that the package has ever been opened, or not? In the boxing method you want to show that the package was openend, right? 2. I also want to familiarize myself a little with other methods. My first thought for beginners was the SN / Gift method. Any tips how to start with these? I've already read how to fake online / in-door receipts and corrupted files etc. Thanks for reading and tips, I appreciate it! In the boxing method you want to show that the package was openend, right? You're correct with the principle of each method. Here's a very brief and simple explanation: * Boxing method - The package/box Is returned without the Item, by giving the Impression as though It was tampered with while In transit, hence the Item was stolen before the company receives It. As long as they're liable for loss of goods during shipment, you're good to go. * The sealed box method - The original Item Is replaced with anything of equal weight and resealed as per Its factory state without any signs of Inconsistences. The objective Is for the company to scan the return (assuming the box hasn't been touched), place It back Into stock and Issue a refund thereafter. Quote:I also want to familiarize myself a little with other methods. My first thought for beginners was the SN / Gift method. Any tips how to start with these?Apart from the DNA and the sealed box, the method Is always based on the nature of the Item. Once you select It, make a list of compatible methods and then eliminate the cons until you end up with the one that has the biggest advantage over the others. The serial number method purely Involves SEing with a serial number that's still under warranty. There's no upfront cost. As for the gift method, It's pretty self-explanatory, but most companies will ask for a POP, which you'll need to circumvent their request. RE: SE'ing questions - K03NT3S31N - 08-08-2021 @mothered Thanks for the answer, how is it currently with Amazon SE'es? I heard they changed their policies. The PC is obviously too heavy for missing item, would DNA be a good idea, since the value of the item is around 2500-3000€? Be sure an OTP (One-Time Password) Is not required on delivery. Also, given the value of the Item and the nature of the DNA method, an Investigation Is almost a certainty so be prepared for a lengthy claims process. I think then a PR is also very likely. Any alternatives? EDIT: @mothered tagged you because you might did not see my reply.
