Billboard Hacking - fire - 03-08-2021 IM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE CORRENT TOPIC TO POST THIS SO FEEL FREE TO MOVE IT MODS So a friend and I found a massive billboard at an intersection where we live. We want to try and hack it and display a message on it for fun (harmless). We went to the place and we found a wifi network to connect to the billboard. What should I do now? A bit clueless here so if any expert wants to help me feel free to do so. It was more intended as a comedic skit. a better question would actually be how to crack WiFi access points because I have already found the wifi to log into the pannel. Hypothetically, you'd want to ascertain whether it's using WEP or WPA(2), and proceed using the matching tools. The device may be listed on something like Shodan.io, if it is accessible externally. It is also possible they are using default login credentials. For WEP you'd likely go with aircrack-ng or something of the sort. There's a variety of options for WPA(2), depending on circumstance. Determining will vary, based on your operating system. However, networks typically broadcast their security type. If you mean aircrack-ng: https://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=install_aircrack You can even install it on Windows if you want. Alternatively, Kali Linux should have it (and others) preinstalled.
