UPS SE Advice (UK) - tamajiv176 - 01-02-2021

I am DNA’ing an item from a retailer that used UPS. I received the item at the door and gave my real name (I did not intend to SE the item at the time).

I have contacted the retailer and said nothing has been received. They checked the tracking which showed it as delivered and received by *my name*. However that is the name written on the package, so anyone could have read it and said to the courier that is their name.

The package was only scanned, no signature was taken.

The retailer has said they will contact UPS to see what has happened here.

What can I expect to happen?

An investigation is currently going on, as expected. Nothing to be worried about.
It's likely that the courier could come at your door and ask what's happened. Just don't panic and stick to your story.
If you're willing not to go that way, simply don't open and nothing bad will happen. Just let the investigation go its own way, it's part of the protocol.

Thanks. Have you have personal experience with UPS yourself?

Precisely.

I've DNA'd quite a few under the same circumstances, though It was FedEx. UPS Is no different, you'll be fine.

Perfect DNA material.

Thank you as always mothered. Do you have any experience of UPS Investigations? Only thing I am concerned about is the delivery driver coming to the house to ask questions (although with the Covid situation will they really be doing such a thing?). I personally received the package so the driver would obviously remember that.

You're always welcome.

I haven't personally experienced Investigations with UPS, mainly DHL & FedEx and a few others on less occasions. Is It the same driver who serves your deliveries?

I don't really get many deliveries from UPS, but from what I remember it's not the same driver.

Then It's highly unlikely that he'll specifically remember the events of your consignment, out of hundreds of packages during his scheduled delivery run.
