Trump vs. Biden: First Debate - Jiggly - 09-30-2020

Well... That was interesting to watch.

Thoughts?

I thought it was great. It's such a mess, I can't take either serious at all. It's the most ridiculous thing. With everything going on In the world we are over here arguing about dumb stuff.

I agree. Trump's insulting Biden's family members and Biden was being a douche too. On top of that, most of the questions were "gotcha" questions, as opposed to proper questions about policy/ideals/approaches to real issues.

Such a finger pointy blame game over things that already happened. I don't care what administration was in power when x happened. Who cares?

I want to know: What are you actually going to do about it, how will you fund that method of tackling the problem, and what are your expected outcomes? Incredibly basic stuff to cover... That wasn't covered.

It's embarrassing. Two grown men acting like that talking about each others families and what not. Politics are such a joke now days. There's no respect or middle ground. No "we agree this needs to be addressed and fixed" it's all blame the other side but we still arent going to fix it

Agreed. I feel like this sort of behavior is somewhat unique to the USA, though. Perhaps because the US has a President. In the UK, things are different, as it's a different political system. However, the US election is closely watched on the world stage.

The US is just kind of the laugh of the world I feel. Our leaders are fighting, there's riots, the west coast is on fire and we still are doing nothing productive lol

That was the messiest, most unpresidential debate I've ever seen. Both Trump and Biden did horrible. I won't even try to take sides on that debate. I'm not sure this country has any hope left.

I hear yah. Hope is looking pretty slim indeed.

Painful to watch. These men are well over the retirement age, yet they can't take turns speaking or use proper etiquette. Throughout the whole ordeal, they are more focused on trashing each other than explaining their ideologies/stance. People should do their own research and vote, as I doubt this spectacle swayed anyone to either candidate's side.

I actually read an article that discussed a study into the impact of these debates on voting decisions. I wish I could recall where I'd read it. I'd share it if I could. However, they found that most people had made their decisions prior to the debate, and those who hadn't, weren't much swayed by the debates.

Perhaps that wouldn't be the case if these debates were conducted properly.
