Tencent has always struck me as fishy, though not because of PUBG Mobile.

Has more to do with raising children properly. Children that think stealing is acceptable, will continue to do so. The lack of discipline is the problem.

If they were playing PUBG all day, they'll just swap to another game. Tencent is a pretty sketchy company, so that's likely why it was banned.

India and China both have the largest smartphone markets in the world. Banning an app from either country would take a chunk out of any companies profits. And targeting specifically Chinese apps is a smart move on Indias part. Works sort of like economical warfare, and also retaliation for the current border conflict.

Since all companies within China are required to allow the CCP access to all info within a company, including the data collected on the user, the CCP could easily gather limitless amounts of data on the users of an app. Hell, in the United States we can't even get TikTok banned... And that's one of the worst violators.

I really encourage behavior like this. You can never trust the Chinese Communist Party.
