Amazon iPhone refund? - Slippery Slope - 07-29-2020

Hi guys,

It’s been a while since I have done an SE. I have given my account months and months of legitimate purchases with no refunds. So, I was wondering. Can you SE iPhones? I’ve been thinking about this for a few days. If it was refunded, would they just brick the iPhone? Can they track the phone in any way/have access to it? I’m wondering this because I see that Apple is the seller on Amazon, so surely they have the capabilities to find it?

I looked through the forum a bit for people mentioning iPhones being SE’d but didn’t have much luck. I was going to use the DNA method.

The idea seems sort of sketchy to me when I think of the capabilities we have today lol.

Amazon has the ability to record the serial number. I have not SEd iPhone however I did an Apple Watch S5 and in my case whoever put the SN information got it wrong. The SN that was listed in my order details was different to what was on the product/box. That meant that even if they wanted to block it (via Apple) they couldn't.

I have read that they can be locked if the information is given to Apple though I have no personal experience.

There Is the possibility of blacklisting the IMEI number, but It's not possible to say for sure.

They cannot remotely access It.

If the claim Is approved, there'll have no reason to track It.

What's the precise weight of the phone?

Same experience. The S/N of my AirPods were different form the S/N of the invoice on the amazon page.

The weight of the package should be around 250g.

That is rather strange. I thought I was simply lucky or that the worker had made a mistake. If you have the same experience then I wonder if others can report similar findings.

Back on topic. Slippery Slope have you considered SEing another item which you can sell and then legitimately purchase an iPhone? This could remove some of the question marks in your SE and potentially make it easier/more likely for you to succeed.

I'm trying to establish whether the missing Item method can be used, hence It's the "Item weight" that I require.

Do you remember what the customer service agent said to you when it didn’t arrive?

Who was the carrier, and was a signature required or photos taken on delivery?
