Argos sealed box method - durden666 - 07-09-2020 Planning to to utilize the sealed box method for a camera and a macbook from Argos. Total value £4000. I have previously done this with an electronic item from Argos worth £1000 and had no issues. Has anyone done this recently? If so, did you have any issues ? RE: Argos sealed box method - mothered - 07-09-2020 The sealed box method Is the way to go with Argos. They have CCTV cameras In place when storeman pick, pack and dispatch orders, so (for example) the missing Item method Is destined to fail. Quote:I have previously done this with an electronic item from Argos worth £1000 and had no issuesThen this should answer your question, yes? Unless you're concerned with the value of the Items? RE: Argos sealed box method - SE.UK - 07-09-2020 Is it really worth trying to do it all in 1 go? Personally, I would stick with a value I know works - the bigger the value, the bigger the risk in my opinion. Diversify the companies etc. Good luck with the SE! This was last November so quite some time has elapsed since then. Just thought I'd see if anyone has anything to say on the odd chance that somehow some kind of protocol of theirs has changed. I guess the total value does stress me out a little bit too as the most I've done before is 1.5k. however realistically, it should not make a difference. As far as I'm concerned I just bought a macbook and a camera, then decided to return it as I found the same ones elsewhere for cheaper. Do you think it's a better option to return them instantly, perhaps even live chat them as it's being delivered and ask to cancel the order (obviously they won't be able to as it's about to be delivered, but it will be on record that I'm requesting a cancellation)... Or perhaps wait a few days? EDIT Nevermind. Shortly after placing my order Argos has cancelled it due to an "error". This is very weird as the past few weeks I've had Curry's cancel 2/3 orders of mine which were high value. For no reason also. Very frustrating having to wait 7 working days for a refund. Can't understand why this is happening unless if they aren't accepting high value orders for some reason. All my info checks out. The only thing that may be throwing systems off is the high value plus that my legitimate address (shipping) has recently changed.... Very weird RE: Argos sealed box method - mothered - 07-09-2020 (07-09-2020, 12:10 PM)durden666 Wrote: This was last November so quite some time has elapsed since then. Hopefully members who've experienced Argos as of late, will provide their thoughts. As such, there are no hard and fast rules as to when the company should be contacted. I'd personally wait an hour or two from the delivery time. RE: Argos sealed box method - jhuggy123 - 07-09-2020 What is sealed box method please RE: Argos sealed box method - mothered - 07-10-2020 (07-09-2020, 04:59 PM)jhuggy123 Wrote: What is sealed box method pleasePut simply, you replace the Item that you've ordered with something else, and return the box In Its original condition as per the manufacturer's state- without any Inconsistencies whatsoever. When the company receives your return, they'll believe It hasn't been opened and place It back In their Inventory. A refund/replacement will be Issued thereafter. RE: Argos sealed box method - InsaneAK - 07-10-2020 I’d be interested to know whether anyone has ever tried FTID with Argos? If It's sealed perfectly as per the manufacturer's packing without any signs of Inconsistencies whatsoever, then It will not give them reason to check. |
