UPS & FedEx No longer taking Signatures Covid-19 - C8Stingray - 03-22-2020

Alright ladies and gents listen up cause we're about to have a field day. Just received this email from FedEx;

"COVID-19: Delivery Signature Update
We want to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.

That’s why effective immediately, we won’t require you to physically sign for most deliveries made in the U.S. It’s just another way we’re focused on Safety Above All - now, and always.

Visit our COVID-19 customer site for more details and to learn more about how FedEx is responding as this situation evolves"

UPS About us Page: "Do I still need to sign for my package?
In the interest of employee and customer safety, UPS’s Signature Required guidelines are temporarily being adjusted such that consignees will no longer need to sign for UPS Signature Required deliveries. Despite this adjusted process the driver will still need to make contact with the consignee. The consignee must, at the time of delivery, acknowledge that UPS is making a delivery and, if applicable, show government issued photo ID."

"show government issued photo ID", what if you use fake names though?

Quote: The consignee must, at the time of delivery, acknowledge that UPS is making a delivery and, if applicable, show government issued photo ID."

This needs to be established "when" a photo ID will be requested, and whether a copy/snapshot will be taken by the carrier.

If the latter Is part of their new protocol, then from a company's standpoint, It's better than a signature and will certainly work against the SE'er.

Drivers probably won’t be fucked to actually do it. And fedex has no protocol talking about that. This is definitely a big win for us temporarily.

Anyone had any success using DNA due to the COVID-19 no signature policy?

Agree. "Semi-patched" being the operative words, which Is relative to the statement below.
Quote:If applicable, show government issued photo ID."

* If applicable-  It does not apply to every delivery.
* show government issued photo ID." - The ID Is only "viewed" and not documented. As such, they have no grounds to cross-check It.
