Lenovo SE? - saint28 - 02-16-2020

Hey guys, I'm back once again with another inquiry. I was fortunate enough to acquire a serial number of a fairly high-end laptop, looking to potentially snag a free one. I read up on how others played this scenario out and it seems either the DNA method or claiming it was faulty, was how they succeeded. Preferably gonna do the latter, as it seems the least involved. Any tips on how to go about this?

Is the serial still under warranty?

They will request the return of the laptop, so be prepared for It.

The laptop is still, thankfully, still under warranty, I just checked. And what if I claim there was some hazardous condition that I had to dispose of the laptop, would they just send a replacement?

I tend to opt for this method, but the SE must be very well formulated and executed to have any chance of succeeding.

Yeah, this might be the hardest one I've done so far. What do you think about the story being about an inflated battery/smoking battery, causing me to throw away the laptop?

I tried this and they asked for me to try reclaim it afterwards.

Comes down to the rep you get. Might take several tries.

Really? Wow, seems a bit much for a laptop, might be harder than I assumed. Did you end up succeeding?

Errors In manufacturing, can cause batteries to overheat and potentially catch fire, so this Is very much a realistic occurrence.

Companies tend to take the matter more seriously, when you mention that you've suffered burns when disposing the unit.

I like that approach, lately Ive been trying to contact support to just 'let Them know' rather than wanting to claim warranty.

Ill be back with feedback in the comming week.

As you've mentioned earlier, a lot depends on the rep you're dealing with.

Some can be very Inflexible and stubborn, while others can be SEd with minimal effort.
