Actual Stolen Amazon Package - megacharizardfire - 02-20-2019 Hello, I have been doing much research and I bumped into this forum. I live in a suite with 5 roommates and my amazon package was legitimately stolen from me. I assumed someone else picked it up before me. Anyways, it is my first order from Amazon as I just found out about the student prime accounts. I panicked and contacted Amazon.ca via live chat right away, contacted 5 different people that day and was told to wait till Monday. Monday comes, they told me they need to do an investigation and to contact back on Wednesday. I contact again and again as I am becoming frustrated. A customer rep actually told me that I have been told to contact back on Wednesday several times. So I guess they do read the pass chat transcripts. Today is Wednesday. I contact them again. They said I need a police report. I am just a student and I am hesitant to file a report (especially when I hear that the police does not care). However, it pains me that from my first ever Amazon order, I have lost a package already. Anyways, what else can I do? I really want to avoid getting the police involved if possible. Thank you for your help. RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - Dempl - 02-20-2019 Do what they ask, or you're not getting a refund simple. Police reports take 10 minutes. Amazon use the police report thing as a way to potentially stop people refunding them as much l believe. In 2019 why haven't couriers got bodycams to show proof of delivery ect RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - megacharizardfire - 02-20-2019 (02-20-2019, 07:03 AM)Dempl Wrote: Do what they ask, or you're not getting a refund simple. Will Amazon contact the police? I also dont want any records under my name for something like this... Sorry maybe I am just being paranoid. But I am also pissed about my package RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - titchyyyy - 02-20-2019 (02-20-2019, 07:06 AM)megacharizardfire Wrote:(02-20-2019, 07:03 AM)Dempl Wrote: Do what they ask, or you're not getting a refund simple. In 2019 why haven't couriers got bodycams to show proof of delivery ect I mean. It sounds a bit dodgy on your part that you would end up in an SE forum for a legitimate claim. But let's say you're being honest; Amazon's usual process for a missing parcel is for you to contact the Police, there is absolutely no way around this (regardless if you're SEing or it's a legitamate claim). I've never known the Police to care much past the initial report, so I can't imagine they'll visit the property you are in or follow up on it. Amazon just want to avoid as many refunds as possible so put these 'obstacles' in your way. As far as I know, as soon as you have a Police report stating what you've stated, they'll process the refund for you as they have no choice. From what I'm told. Amazon don't even follow up Police reports. I don't even think they check the crime numbers/references. I've heard of people in here using the same crime report for several items. edit: I forgot to mention, when you file the report, do not indicate that your room mates could have stolen it because they could possibly then come to your property and interview your room mates. Be adamant that your room mates do NOT have the package and that it couldn't have been stolen by them, even though, lets face it, it probably was. In 2019 why haven't couriers got bodycams to show proof of delivery ect In all fairness, even if they had bodycams, if they're going to place packages outside of doors, they still have no proof if the parcel was legitimately delivered or not, since when the courier leaves the property, it could get stolen from absolutely anyone. RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - Dempl - 02-20-2019 Why would you care if the police came round? Your package just got stolen bro... First thing I'mma do if my package gets stole and Amazon tell me to police report isn't gonna be post on a social engineering forum.... I'm gonna call your bluff and say you've tried to do the refund but have been told you need a police report now your but hole making chocolate buttons....? In 2019 why haven't couriers got bodycams to show proof of delivery ect Yea. I was googling how to avoid a police report. Been on multiple reddit threads and sooner or later it led to this site. Oh well. Guess i have no choice but to go to the police... i have read on other forums that i could try emailing jeff. Would that work? I get nothing from lying - the results are the same: I need to fill in a police report. Like I said, I dont want to aggravate my roommates. Its a poor relationship already. I was just trying to avoid filing a police report and it eventually led me to this site. RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - Dempl - 02-20-2019 Just file the police report dude there's no other way around it, emailing him ain't gonna fix something like that, it's just standard procedure these days with amazon Go down to your local pd, tell them you'd like to file a police report for a lost/stolen package they'll ask a few questions nothing too hard then you'll be on your way RE: Actual Stolen Amazon Package - titchyyyy - 02-20-2019 (02-20-2019, 07:37 AM)megacharizardfire Wrote:(02-20-2019, 07:28 AM)titchyyyy Wrote:(02-20-2019, 07:06 AM)megacharizardfire Wrote: Will the police come to my place. I've seen people email Jeff and one of his team can sort you out, but unfortunately, since you've not complied with company policy, they'll probably ignore you. The police report is just a standard step to take when you didn't receive the parcel. You have a genuine case with the Police, it'll literally take 10~ minutes to do, as long as you mention that the parcel has been intercepted at some point from when it was delivered to your door, to you actually getting to the door, making sure to mention that your room mates are not the sort of people to steal a package from you (Mention you've had several packages that have arrived perfectly fine and your room mates have never stolen one). Simple, easy process. Since it's a legitimate claim, you have nothing to worry about, surely? |
