@Psycho_Coder @Deque i already know that deque dosent like youtube courses to learn programming but i wanted to here from you and deque ur opinion about this one cz i find it very interesting !!

Reading book and watching video course does not matter much when come to
learn programming. It is a thousand hours in practice that count.

If after you watch video course, and you do not put it into practice,
you will learn nothing out of it. Book is better than video because
there is exercise section which you can try out your new acquired
knowledge into action.

Well I never said that youtube courses are bad. Even if Deque said so she might have said that because many video tutorials teach the right thing the wrong way and hence its a loss for the reader. But videos from Stanford, MIT OCW, or NPTEL etc. videos from these channels are awesome and the best available and they teach you a lot of stuff and everything for free. I still watch videos from these channels, and I can guarantee you that these videos are awesome and you can continue watching them but as @invisal said after you go through the videos then read the book and after that solve the exercises.


Well the course you have taken is good and a beginner should watch this video course.

Hhahaha I know your criticism on that guy. He starts his tutorial by saying:-

"Wat's goin on guys! Today we are going for an awesome Java Tutorial"
Or Java Game tutorial or other tutorials.

I doubt whether they are awesome or they are Shitsome :epic:.

I've followed this course as an absolute beginner and it was definitely worth it! If you're already good at programming in other languages, this course might be a bit slow paced. If however you don't have any knowledge on programming, this is definitely the first thing I would recommend.

It takes quite long to follow this course, but if you want to learn how to program properly you won't do so in a matter of two weeks anyhow. Really the only downsides are that some stuff is a little outdated and that they use a special library (which makes it a little bit easier) that you really only use during this program. In my view the quality of the material and the awesome teaching by Mehran Sahami easily make up for those downsides though.
