I thought of SE a Japanese knife 400 euro value.
the store I have chosen is amazon.
the knife is sold and shipped by amazon.
it's too heavy to make EB so I was thinking about the sealed box method (I have another very cheap knife to put inside).
or the wrong item received.
any advice is well accepted. if you have other easier SE stores we can evaluate the plan.

I think the sealed box wont work given its a knife.
WIR might work, but why not opt for DNA or hit the manufacturer directly?

the knife is shipped in a package, I could open it, replace the knife and apply round transparent seals.
I don't like the DNA method because of the consequences to the courier, I use it only if strictly necessary.
I checked the seller's shop ship with ups and in case of any problems they offer free return. maybe hitting the store directly is a good idea

You could use the broken item method (claiming that the knife is broken) or the disposal of faulty item.
Say that you've cut yourself on the finger upon opening the box, because one edge of the knife was kind of broken and therefore you've disposed the knife.

It still Is, but not with Amazon or Apple.
