returning damaged goods #1
have you returned goods and kept the new product, claiming your old product was damaged in delivery?
Would see that the challenges with this are that if your product looks worn and old, compared to a otherwise new product that has been damaged during delivery.

RE: returning damaged goods #2
Its called the SIMILAR ITEM Method i guess.
I did it on 2different ways, since I had a little bit of insider information here & there which will be too long to type here so I'm gonna skip that part.

1st: Simple SWAP/SWITCHEROOO; I swapped 3years old USED ITEM which looked exactly the same physically, kept the new & sent old. That was simple version as both item were identical - look wise so simple as that as it sounds right?

2nd this turned out to be DIY Damaged Item SE you could say ahahaha, I wanted to SE this one specific AIO Liquid Cooling Unit - which I ordered online(Seller had SN Number mentioned on order details as well as on hard copy of invoice included within shipment, so i knew SN was going to be an issue while SE'ing this one) & meanwhile bought a OLD DEAD AIO(Pump Block Head was visibly different in shape BUT same size 360mm)  at scrap's value; from offline-physical-local shop.
Now comes the interesting part i bought can of  Black Spray paint used to paint multiple coatings of paint, one after another - but - before the PAINT OF FRESH/PREVIOUS LAYER DRIED-, that way after multiple coats it started to look like there has been some sort of leakage which reacted with metal & other parts & MADE IT LOOK A LITTLE MORE THICK & GOOEY.
Main part of that SE's Execution; When the NEWLY ORDERED ITEM WAS DELIVERED; I  called the support said the item i received is damaged to the point at not recognisable/identifiable, Rep(little bit sounded shocked but was polite as per my observation & assessment ON PHONE CALL) asked me to send photos. I did uploaded 3pics, Rep gave me generic apology for inconvenience & said it looks like there has been some leakage about which seller has been notified & they've taken a note of it; Rep himself went on to say DO NOT USE THE DEFECTIVE ITEM & as the item is "Out Of Stock" currently with the seller they can only provide me REFUND which was exactly what I wanted. After disconnecting the call i went on to place & pack the OLD UNIT OF AIO inside the box of  new UNIT.
NEXT DAY: To my surprise this^ particular SE's refund came within 30minutes of their AGENT CAME TO PICK UP THE RETURN & MARKED THE SHIPMENT PICKED: No fucking clue why it was so fast but I thought it worth sharing.

It's definitely the case with Amazon - they're very meticulous with checking returns hence for the most part, It will fail.

Regarding that "looks worn and old" part. Yes you have to be slightly careful with this part. Do some minor major cleaning DIY renewal activity with the item you wish to send back just to make it look like new one, possible if your item is  visibly identical. You cant just throw in some ancient relics or artifacts or just pure trash-&-junk in your return & then expect your RETURN/REFUND to be processed when selecting/opting for DAMAGED-OR-DEFECTIVE ITEM  under REASON FOR RETURN, you do that & then you will get a mail from them saying they cant replace/refund you because they received trash & cant proceed until they get correct item in return!

you would be surprised what some people have sent and companies have still issue refunds. having a positive result depends more on your seing skills and some luck (return department being too busy/lazy).

if you have an item in good condition without scracthes, I would think cause some realistic damage to the product, claim damaged and return your old product.

If reps are not half-asleep on the job, they certainly do.

Amazon FBA uses LPN ( License Plate Numbers), FNSKU Identification and other Internal processes.
