numeric passwords #1
I've got some logins to hack and I know the first 4 chars already.

Quite a long of them just have digits as the first 4 chars. So ... how to guess the rest of the numbers? What types of numeric passwords do people like to use?

pm me if you want to see samples.

thanks

Try all possible combinations.

Obviously, it would help you a lot if you knew how long the password is.

Please provide some more Information as to the type and nature of the accounts. In terms of analyzing and Identifying the complete entity, It all depends on where and how you obtained your details.

For example, let's say you wish to piece together your victim's cell phone number. On the grounds you have his/her email address not one digit of the phone number, you can check various accounts to see If the email address Is associated with a registered account. You then navigate via the account "recovery options" and see If their cell phone Is added as a recovery device. Some websites reveal more digits (of the cell phone number) than others, and this Is where you'll consolidate the digits to form a complete profile on the cell phone number.

Let's take this example (details may vary depending on locality) when gathering the exposed digits of the cell phone number via various websites. All this Is performed from the account's "recovery options":

* Gmail: Exposes the last 2 digits.
* eBay: Exposes the first 3 digits.
* Yahoo: Requires the middle 2 digits to generate a password reset link.

Already you have 7/10 digits of your victim's cell phone number. Performing a reverse email and/or address lookup, may In fact expose most If not all of the missing digits you require.

This Is factual. I dox and perform a lot more than this mediocre methodology.

They are just a bunch of standard web logins. And I know the first 4 characters of the passwords for all the accounts.

So I was looking through them and based on the 4 characters that I know, about 1 in 20 look like they will be entirely numeric.

I don't know the password length, but most will be 8-10 chars.

Just wondering what people typically think of if they decide to use totally numeric passwords. Surely something they can remember, right, so perhaps phone numbers, zip codes, (partial) cc numbers, dates of birth, social security numbers?

DOB used to be very commonly used as numeric password, not sure if it's still the same nowadays.

I'm fairly certain variants of passcodes will have parts of these number combos.
