Hello, im trying to attempt to do a refund from john lewis for a perfume thats worth £270. What are my chances it works, ordered it yesterday and it should be arriving tomorrow via DPD and was going to use the "it was broken and i cut myself" method. Anyone done a refund from john lewis before?

They may request pictures of the damage, so be prepared for that.
Exactly which perfume Is It, and how much does It weigh?

The only issue is - they'll wonder why you haven't taken a picture as most people would take a picture as proof. You wouldn't just throw it away?
I'd probably go down the route of did not arrive or they've sent you the wrong item completely. I mean, you'd only have to buy a £15/20 perfume from them in a similar bottle/size/weight and it should be pretty easy I'd say.

The purpose of the weight, Is to determine whether the missing Item method can be used, however It's a little too heavy.
In terms of the weight, as a rule of thumb, every ml Is the equivalent of 1g so 100ml = 100g. You can also opt for the DNA or wrong Item received method.

Surely the excuse is plausible, something along the lines of i panicked after seeing the blood having a phobia of blood and just had to throw it away? I dunno. So ur suggesting that I find a perfume (similar weight) they stock on another website and tell them that’s what was in the box and that they sent me the wrong one. One thing I’m worried about is that I have heard some places have video of the warehouse packing the item to confirm it’s the right perfume being sent do you think this will be the case?

Do you think it’s risky at all using the DNA method with DPD special next day delivery? I think it requires signature too. Which do you suggest from experience DNA or wrong item received?

Given It requires a signature, they'll most likely open an Investigation and cross-check with the carrier.
I'd go for the wrong Item received method.
