iPhone XS boxing return to sprint #1
I have an iPhone XS with sprint that I have been paying off for 2 years. I have 249$ left on the phone but due to “NYC” laws I cannot buy the phones off, (that’s some BS, am I right) the only ways I can leave sprint is 1. Sending the phone back to them and not pay anything and lose my phone or 2. If I don’t return the phones in 30 days I’ll still have to pay the 249 but they will refuse to unlock it for use with other carriers, again some major BS by sprint. My question is can I box the phone to sprint and will the phone get blacklisted by the serial or IMEI, or will there be a big investigation for boxing the iPhone. I’ve never done the boxing method before and I’m sorry if anyone didn’t understand completely what I wrote, I’ll be more than happy to explain if I wasn’t clear enough. I have until July 4th to make a decision

Update, I contacted sprint and told them I would like to return the iPhone in preparation and they told me they will be sending me a “return kit” making me more nervous of boxing at this point

It's certainly small enough to box.

How much does the phone weigh?

Return kit sounds like a box with a prepaid label, so you should be good.

Unless you want to leave no room for a fail by putting random weight inside the return parcel, my advice will be to ftid them with just an EB. Make sure your reference details from the returns label is cut off, we want Sprint to receive the parcel but not know its yours.

Try and remove the tracking number as well.

As for if your phone will be blacklisted, there's always a possibility but I doubt it, since Sprint will assume its somewhere in their returns warehouse.

but if I'm not mistaken there should be a way to change the phone's IMEI

Adding a little weight to the packing, will suffice to box the company.

FTID with EB seems so suspicious to me. I've heard lots of success with this, but I feel like it can definitely be improved.
Unfortunately, I have to retire from SE.
