i am an idiot #1
Hi folks, I made a mistake with an SE, and was wondering if it was salvable. I ordered a pair of brand new cheap shoes off Ebay, with the intention of swapping them for more expensive shoes from the same manufacturer. I bought the second pair of shoes from the manufacturer's website, and returned the first shoes claiming that the wrong item had been sent However, I did not do appropriate research and apparently the specific model I bought on Ebay isn't sold by the manufacturer directly. They haven't accepted the return, so I was wondering if I should admit defeat, or press on and try and convince them that there was some kind of error in their warehouse.

It's unlikely that the SE will be a success if the item isn't a part of the companies stock. The manufacturer probably cross-checked to see if they actually did give you the wrong product, only to find that the item you sent back isn't in fact their inventory. In this instance I would just say that you told someone to return the item for you, but unfortunately they sent the wrong item back. Send the actual item back for the full refund, and try SE'ing them again. This time on another account and utilising a different method.
