Yet another piece of evidence, to support my recommendation to never perform updates. This Is, what, the tenth time It's killed your laptop? Can I ask why you want to flash the BIOS?

Have you checked and/or uninstalled and reinstalled the OEM software that's managing this functionality?

Understood, but how will the BIOS update be of benefit to the Issues you're currently experiencing?

I wouldn't be choosing Cloud as an Installation.

The last thing you need, Is a break In connectivity and things will go horribly wrong. Moreover, It'll probably Install a heap of useless updates.
