[insidious]

2016 has ended a few days ago (fuck that year went by fast) and I'm sure many of us have put a few more shows under our belt in 2016.

Crunchyroll is holding their 'Best Anime of 2016' elections, but I personally disagree with some of their choices, though I'm having quite a difficult time coming up with my own "Best Anime of 2016". If i were to choose one (that came out in 2016) it would be a tossup between Re:Zero and Erased, but i don't have the best trackrecord of keeping up with the latest releases.

What's your best Anime of 2016?

Re:Creators - This series features characters from various fiction becoming real and interacting with their creators, blending multiple genres in an interesting narrative.

Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) - This series quickly gained popularity with its engaging characters, compelling story, and unique take on the superhero genre. It follows a group of students training to become heroes in a world where superpowers, or "quirks," are the norm.

Mob Psycho 100 - Created by the same author as One Punch Man, this series combines humor, supernatural elements, and heartfelt moments through the story of a young psychic, Mob.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!) - A comedic take on the isekai genre, KonoSuba follows the misadventures of a group of dysfunctional adventurers.

March Comes in Like a Lion (3-gatsu no Lion) - A beautifully crafted slice-of-life story that deals with themes of depression, family, and personal growth, all revolving around a young shogi player.

Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) - This critically acclaimed film directed by Makoto Shinkai tells the story of two teenagers who find themselves mysteriously swapping bodies, leading to a touching and complex narrative.

Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale - This animated film continues the story of Kirito and Asuna with a new augmented reality game that blurs the lines between reality and the virtual world.

2016 wasn't a bad year for anime. Berserk and Your Name are probably the winners.
