Xbox One Digital Game Prices Hiked #1
Quoted from VG247:

"Microsoft has just confirmed to us that the price of exclusive digital games on the UK Xbox One store has inflated by £5. The company has also sent us a statement on the matter.

We reported on the UK Xbox One store price hike yesterday. Hit the link to see which games have increased.

In an email sent to me this morning, a Microsoft spokesperson said, 'Yes, pricing for select digital content in some markets has changed since launch. Digital content pricing is subject to change and we may occasionally offer various deals or promotions. Ultimately pricing and promotions will vary by region.'

It follows Sony explaining the steep cost of games on the PS4 store. Read their statement through the link.

I voiced my opinion on the matter of over-charging and microtransaction flooding here. Quite frankly, it stinks."

I thought Microsoft should be smarter than this. Digital has no extra costs like printing, tranportation, etc. Makes no sense as to why it's priced higher than retail discs.

They have turned so fucking greedy. Like the amount of cash flow Microsoft receives is unreal.

This seems fishy to me. I guess we have to pay the price for new innovations.

If they have set that high price at the beginning I wouldn't get angry so much. Bad move hiking the price after they are live if you ask me.

Why is every single piece of news related to the Xbox One either negative news or some sort of apology from Microsoft? Those guys used to be great at PR and marketing, now they're just greedy and Sony are destroying them in sales due to their blunders. Still, having said all that, they are making money hand over fist, and they still have a doggedly loyal customer base that won't stop paying them, so you have to wonder whether or not this was really such a bad move....
