RE: Worst Injuries? 08-27-2014, 05:42 AM

I'm quite lucky too not have broken any bones, though I have had a few pretty painful injuries, here are the worst:
1. I burnt my ankle when I was like 3, didn't get it treated for a few days so needed a skin graft (When they take skin from your thigh and put it on another part of your body).
2. Hurt my back in a go kart crash, still hurts a lot sometimes and it's been a few years now.
3. Twisted, dislocated, or some other shit (was never clear and didn't go to hospital, though I guess twisted) my ankle in a fight at school.
4. Fucked up knees and shit.
Explanations:
1) So I don't really remember much of this, I just remember I 3 and was with my mum at one of her friends homes and she spilt her coffee, I remember screaming when it happened but that's it. It went all over the top of my foot and ankle, and I can still just about see the skin graft on the top of my foot and going up to my ankle nowadays, though luckily it's covered by hair now so you can't really see it much unless you really look for it, and even then it's difficult. Anyway, whilst I don't remember any of it, my dad told me about what happened with this one. If my mum had mentioned it straight away, it would have been instantly treated, and then no issues, but nope, she was worried my dad would be angry at her, so she covered it up with socks for 3 days, then one day my dad saw my ankle was all red and burnt to fuck when she was changing them once. I'm glad I don't remember that, because he said I must have been in absolutely agony. Because she had waited instead of getting it treated instantly, a simple burn ending up requiring surgery, and they had to put me under anasthetic to do it, I think I was 3 years old anyway, might have been 2. At the hospital I had the surgery, they were losing 8/10 of the infants they used anasthetic on for surgery. That's not an exaggeration, that was the actual figure for the place at the time, but I'm still here, so I guess I was one of the lucky few.
2) Was at a go kart track with my family for my birthday, I was like 12 I think, maybe 13. I was going around the first corner at top speed, which for the go karts in question was 40MPH, the karts also didn't have seat belts and at the top of the first corner is a brick wall, with one line of tires on the floor as a small barrier to stop you smashing into the actual wall, anyway, I was at top speed and I lost control going around the first corner, never slowed down to much but must have been going at least 25-30MPH on impact, and I hit the tyres going backwards and bounced off the walls. God, I stayed silent but I could have fucking screamed with how much it hurt. The race marshalls came over and asked if I was alright, but I was a stubborn kid who didn't want to miss out on any racing, so I said I was fine and finished the race. That night I struggled to even get into my bed I was in so much pain.
3) Long one: Was in a fight with some asshole at school, his faggot friend (Not an exaggeration, my friends told me they were seen kissing a day later) ran up behind me and pushed me to give his friend an advantage. We were on a hill on the school field and my foot got stuck in a hole as I fell down the hill, my ankle twisted round a shit load. As I lay on my back at the bottom I couldn't even move it for a few seconds, I panicked for like 2 seconds and started screaming about how I couldn't move my ankle, then I saw the fat fuck who I was fighting next to me getting up, and I grabbed him by his shirt and tried to drag him down, planning to choke the cunt to death, but I could hardly move and he managed to pull away and walk away. It probably would have been okay, would have healed quickly, but nope, we'll come to that in a minute. So eventually I started to get feeling back in my ankle, I went over to the steps, limped all the way up, limped to the school nurses office, and she phone my mum on loudspeaker. I don't remember the exact wording, but it played out like this: "We've got Uzinero here he's hurt his ankle we're wondering if you're able to pick him up" - "I'm kinda busy, how bad is it?" - "Not too bad he should be fine if you can't pick him up" all I could think was are you fucking kidding me? If she knew I had twisted my fucking ankle more than 90 degrees she would fucking pick me up, but instead she just said "Not too bad he should be fine" and so I didn't get picked up, and had to spend 3 fucking hours walking up and down 3 flights of fucking stairs, and then across a corridor a few hundred meters long to get to my class. On the way to music class, I was already a long time behind everyone because it took so long to get from the nurses station on the bottom floor to top floor for music class, then I had to walk down a corridor a few hundred meters. I held onto the railing and tried to take it slow, but after 2 minutes and getting around 1/3 the way there I couldn't hold myself up anymore and collapsed on the fucking floor. Had to drag myself along for a while until I could find somewhere to get back up without too much pain, and then limp to my classroom and into the line waiting outside, literally dripping with sweat, tears down my face and in my eyes, and a face as red as fucking beetroot. I held myself up against the wall for a bit outside the class, and I don't remember who but some cunt teacher gave me shit about how I would have been sent home if it was anything serious and I should stop over reacting, fucking cunts. One of the teachers had some sympathy and was quite nice and he arranged for me to go down to the library for the rest of the day, so I only had to go down one flight of stairs and like a 10 second walk to the library, though this time it was closer to 2 minutes. Once I got inside I saw down on a chair reading the Guinness World Book of Records for the rest of the school day, with my injured foot propped on the back of my right foot in such a way that I couldn't feel it anymore, which helped prevent the pain, though every now and then it would slip and I'd get a big jolt of pain through my ankle and wouldn't be able to stop myself from letting out an audible grunt with the pain, which the librarian noticed every single time. When the bell rang and I could go home, it was quite the challenge having to put my left foot back down on the floor knowing how much it would hurt, but it had to be done and so it was, and I walked all the way down the corridor, out past the gates and to my mums car, in fucking insane amounts of pain for the first half, but IIRC, one of my friends bumped into me around half way through and helped me get to the car so I wouldn't have to keep walking. I never went out to the hospital to find out exactly what it was, twist, fracture, dislocation, I can't be sure, though I think twist. I had to spend like a week off from school after that because I could hardly even get off of my chair. Funny thing is, after the school made it that much worse by not sending me home with it despite knowing I was in fucking agony, when I went back my teachers gave me shit for not coming into school because "People break their legs and they come to school!" - Yeah, because when you have a twisted ankle you have a cast and crutches to get along fine, fucking nope, even if I did went to the hospital I wouldn't have gotten a cast so I would still be in extreme pain whenever I moved from the ankle moving around, and whilst it's possible I doubt they'd give crutches to someone with a twisted ankle, they didn't for my sister and I think she had 8 weeks off school once when her ankle was twisted.
4. Not sure if this counts as an injury since it's more something I was born with and never corrected like it should have because of the burns and shit that I suffered on my foot, then you combine that with overly tight tendons and you get a fucked up knee alignment that never corrects, so I walk a little different to everyone else, since my feet naturally point outwars instead of forwards. They told me about the only treatment option in the hospital once, but there's no fucking way I'd even consider it. What they would do, is put me under anastethic, and break both of my legs, and I'd spend like 9 months in a wheelchair until they healed. They said that if that happened they may have to do it up to 3 times in 5 years, and even then not only is there no guarantee it would fix the problem, but there's also a risk that my legs may not heal if they break them under surgery and then I'm in a wheelchair for the rest of my life, fuck that shit, fuck that shit fucking hard as fucking shit can be fucked to all fuckery.
