Wolves #1
Hi everybody ^^

I've been thinking, for a while now, about getting myself a pet as fellow company; and I cannot seem to settle for anything...usual.

Therefore, I have decided on adopting a wolf pup late summer this year, and everything with permits and licenses is done and completed.
My question to you, SL, is if any of you have got any experience with wolves or wolfdogs, and if you then have got any hints for a newcomer.

As I have a friend cross-atlantic who's got an artic wolf (Canis lupus arctos), I've got some knowledge, but there are still holes to be filled ^^ The breeder has given me some pointers, and due to my tempered location; I'm planning on adopting an Eurasian wolf (Canis lupus lupus).

Thanks for your help, and have a nice day ^.^

I've been looking for pros and cons; and, yes, it's very demanding keeping a wolf.
I have, however, spoken to people who know what it's about, and the people from whom I'm adopting the pup live twenty minutes away and "would lolve to help out" ^^

...but you do indeed have a point, thanks ^^

Dude wolves can be very dangerous even if you are their owner they only view you as a pack leader not as an owner which are 2
different things, once they will be adults in two years or so naturally they have to leave the pack and get laid but if you keep him it will result
in very unpredictable behavior, I would love to have a wolf but I know their unpredictable nature, plus if this is your first pet then it is going to be very hard.

Apart from an extremely long sentence, I conquer. Wolves lack the domesticated behaviours and ability to enclose their insticts.
My hope is, though, that there will be little problems with that, and I will, of course, keep my distance (relative to actually being a pet) ^^

However, dogs do not see you as their "owner" either. You're (hopefully) the pack leader to them too.

OP: This is a very cool idea, I think you should at least try. Best of luck Cressi.

You won't. Wolves don't eat or attack humans unless they're EXTREMELY hungry.

So remember to feed it Wink

I'm sure it will turn out fine.

Ya. All you gots to do is make sure that the wolf thinks that your the pack leader, and you should be fine. Wolves make great companions they are very loyal and will never leave your side. (thats my experience with them)
