We all know that Windows 8 changed quite a lot in the way a person uses a computer these days, with the new Metro look and the Windows Store/Apps. You've gotten a completely new way of browsing files, web and having general fun on your PC, but we still need a few programs to do this, so I have compiled a list of programs that I personally mean you should have on your computer.

This will be updated as time goes, if I get enough recommendation for programs or requests.

Its no secret that you'll need a Web Browser if you are going to browse the internet/web, and you are most likely using one right now. However, there are certain browsers that are better than others, both in opinion and facts. I've compiled a small list of recommended browsers and I've also commented on each and every one of them for you. These are just recommendation though, and there is no need to follow me or my opinions, all I ask of you is to at least take a look at them before you decide which one you like the best.

CoolNovo
CoolNovo is one of the lesser known browsers out there, but its actually one of the best there is. Its based off Google Chrome, and therefore shares a ton of similarities with that browser. The reason I recommend this over Google Chrome is that CoolNovo is better optimized and comes with all the needed addo-ons upon installment. It also has the ability to use all of Google Chrome's add-ons and themes from the Google Chrome Store, it also has its own app store as well.

Maxthon Cloud
Maxthon Cloud claims to set you free, something it really does. Its a unique looking, yet easy looking browser. Its a genius way of browsing the web for people that likes to update social medias as well as being organized. This is the type of browser that really doesn't require add-ons either, however since the lack of it can also turn a few people away from it. Its not as customizable as other browsers, but its still a great overall browser for all your devices!

Mozilla Firefox
Firefox is well known for its large selection of add-ons as well as its customization ability for the user. On top of that, it has a clean look and feel to it and its pretty quick for a browser of this size. Its one of the more popular browsers on the web currently and for good reason, if you want a browser that you can customize to your own personal liking, then you should try this browser right away!

Opera
Opera is a well-known, stable and beautiful looking browser, however it lacks a few things that other browsers put on the table. The newest version lacks theme's currently, but it is to be added in future updates. The add-on gallery is also smaller for this browser, however Opera is already good enough on install, so its no reason to have add-ons for it really. It also a very faster browser, with a clean, sleek and beautiful look as I mentioned before.

When you want to view a picture or a video, Windows 8 really gave the hand to normal computer users. As the newer tools that comes with Windows 8 clearly are made for touch and are more annoying to navigate with a mouse that its worth. So I've compiled a little list with recommended programs to view pictures, videos and audio files on your Windows 8 machine as a substitute for the defaults.

Google Picasa
Picasa is a dream come true, its the simplest, sleekest and coolest looking picture viewing tool out there in my opinion. It also has the ability to read file types such as PSDs and display them like they were PNGs without the needed of opening Photoshop at all! It also comes with a few options to slide through your pictures without closing the program and the program it self doesn't look like a average program. Its a very nice tool that lets you view pictures easily by taking the attention away from the background and making you instantly focusing on the picture at hand.

VLC Player
VLC have been a known video player for many years, and truth is that it is still a great tool and a great option to Windows 8's default video player. Its easy to use, has more than enough options, its free and it looks great! Its also fast and responsive so there is no need to wait for ages to open a video anymore!

iTunes
I am not a fan of Apple, but iTunes is a program that almost everyone have used at a time and many still use it and for good reason. The program looks great as every Apple program does, its fast, responsive and plays music without a problem. Its easy to organize and listen to lists of your favorite music in a short amount of time, you are also able to buy music tracks using iTunes and listen to it on other devices that supports iTunes like Iphone.

Then again, CoolNovo is the better browser of all 3 of them. ( Mainly because its more or less a upgraded version of Google Chrome. )

I personally dislike WinAmp, both because of the design/interface and because I have had some problems with it in the past. ( Which is why it isn't on this list, but I may try it again and see if my opinion changes )
