Why i love hakers (1)? #1
Hello all.
this post may be harmful for peoples sensible from religion differences so please if you are so, don't read it!

this post may be so long too, so please be patient.
In this post, i will talk about information, in philosophical way.
I'm Muslim, and in my believe, in judgement day, GOD "Allah" will ask a question for every body, and it will be the first question:
- did you know or not?
so if the person say no GOD "Allah" will say :
- and why you didn't know, i created every way to knowledge, why you choose to be ignorant?
and if the person say yes i know, GOD "Allah" will ask the second question, but the most difficult :
- and did you did as you know, and did you teach others what you know?
what i want to say here, that's in my religion, privatization of information is a big sin, almost the biggest, and that why write this post.
let's think about it, what is information?
information is an idea, created by someone or someones, developed and exploited, for now that's OK, those one want to earn money from this information, that's OK too, but in some levels.
But when that begin to change from earning money to abuse from the all humanity, it become not accepted at all!
and why they can abuse ? because they choose to privatize this information! and people continue to pay and pay and pay, because they don't know that information...
is that honest? i don't think so! is it legal? yes it is! that's the shame in this story, do you want some examples?
* Microsoft, the biggest evil ever, they sell to you an OS with a price we will considerate it price "X", this OS will have many bug's not protected (you will buy an antivirus), venerable in a thousands ways(so you will be obligated to buy some protection tools) , don't support the most of hardware (you need drivers), and the most funny thing, many of feature will be blocked, and if you want it, you should buy this OS version 1.000000001 with a new price,
" X+many $ "
isn't that a shame? if you don't think so, here a point of view. How many OS has Microsoft sell ? did they cover there costs? did they not already did big profit, so big that we cannot even image it?
you don't get it yet ? OK no problem, here an example, imagine a carpenter, he made a good chair, and he sell it just one time he recover his cost and make some profit
but Microsoft make a bad OS, and they sell as many they can, it's not a "cost profit" matter, it's become an abuse! they don't have the information, i sell it to him, etc...
But, now imagine that Microsoft, after (for example) one year from release date, they share OS core files, how many developer will try to fix bugs? to add features? to fix venerability? etc... and how many perfect will be this OS! like Linux.
and now, let's site some other company like Microsoft!
Macintosh, Adobe, Corel, EA game, Ubisoft, Activision, Java, etc...
But, thank GOD there are Crackers, the hidden justice soldiers, they work for free! helping other to get free software, and teaching those information-holders, that they are nothing, and telling them that "there security system (or scam system) is crap!" and other people will have access to those information, how many those company will try hard to hide the information.
what we will do without crackers? we will pay all for all thing! why? because of holding and privatization of information, that in my believe information is given by God. (very vast subject)
So, if you find that subject interesting, please post for reply or discuss, i m an open-mind person, and i love to be critiqued
Thank you!
see you in "why i love hackers (2)"

Nice post except for 2 flaws:

1) Your religion does not approve of free information. Actually, when a certain Danish artist released a little painting, a few people died in riots that this painting have caused. Iran blocked all Dutch import because of it etc. If you did actually believe in true freedom of information, you would leave this artist alone. You could disagree, but definitely not do riots nor block the import of goods. Generally, religion and freedom don't go hand in hand.

2) Unix isn't free nor opensource. It is closed source and the vendors have to pay certification fees and annual trademark royalties. Similar to what Microsoft does.

I believe in open market. If somebody can make business out of something, let them do it. I would however like to see open education for anybody who is interested.
Staff will never ever ask you for your personal information.
We know everything about you anyway.

thank you, but i m not from Iran, and keep that in mind, it's a very important information, Islamic government are against true Islam, they use it to have people trust, so they can control them easily! and because those government are slaves to capitalism controller, they will do what ever they say, even killing people and saying "that is the Islam way"
and for the Unix, i m sorry, text mistake, i mean Linux, and i will fix that
finally i like to ask you a question, how fare can we be free, for ∞ ?
and what actually is the definition of the word freedom?

The power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
Absence of subjection to foreign domination or despotic government.

Dutch? I think you mean Danish. Some artist made a charicature of prophet muhammed and that caused riots. But yes I agree on all other things you wrote, religion is usually a bad thing. Not talking about islam alone(I've been several times in indonesia and the muslims were all extremely kind to me).

of course they do! being nice to people it's an obligation in Islam
but, why this discussion has turn from information sharing to religion discussion, i talked about Islam just to make an example that in Islam we should share because we believe that information is given by GOD in the first place.

What do you expect, around 40% of your intro post is about God. TBH I don't see the connection with "Why I love hackers" and posting things about God. I respect that your religious but should be aware that there are loads of atheists like me who stopped reading your message after the first lines and only read the other replies.
