Why do we listen to music? 11-11-2015, 07:22 PM

I actually really want to know your stance to this question.
Personally, I feel like music provides me an alternate reality and it's seemingly always there for me. Depending on my mood, there's always diverse genres that captivate me and I can always enjoy music at any point.
Something about music always intrigues me. When I listen to it in an altered state of mind, it feels as like pure ecstasy. It's not just happiness. No. It feels heavenly. Why is this?
I crave music like I crave a drug. I am willing to try and experiment any and all sorts of music and if I don't like a genre then I simply stay away from it.
