As more and more members start to join, the more artists we get on here and the more people will share their artwork and alike with the community. Most people that share their work only share the finish product and this doesn't really show the artist's talent if they want to be given feedback on their work. There are a certain way that I personally mean one should present one's artwork in a forum. This thread aims to show you what I mean about this and hopefully make people present their work in a more organized and friendlier way.
What should my thread contain?
When people tend to share their work on a forum, they mostly just post the finished product and not the resources they've used which have been created by other artists. This is both disrespectful and stupid to do as it will/may lead to people calling you a ripper, poor artists and alike. Especially if you used a PSD to create the work without giving credits to the original artist. If you have used resources to create your work that was not created by you, then you should always mention or link back to the original resource/artwork and artist. People that don't do this shows very little respect towards the resource maker and we all want respect for our work, or at least most people want that when they share it with others. So for short, what your thread should ( besides your artwork ) contain:
- Link back to the original resources used.
- Honor given to the original artist of the resources used.
How should I set up my thread?
How you wish to set up your thread is fully up yourself, though I have a few recommendations for you that you may want to follow if you want your thread to be organized and easy for people to understand and read. For starters you should have the artwork you want to present at the top, if you want to present more than one artwork, you should place them under each other with a small space in between each of them. You should also center them in your thread to make them more eye catching for the viewer. After the artwork you wish to present, you should have the links and honors to the original artists of the resources which you've used. I recommend you to align the links and honors to the left and use a "dot list" to organize them. After this you may have anything you wish, but a few words about the artwork and your personal opinion on it should really be there.
Here's what I mean
