Ways to make your website faster 08-07-2015, 03:16 AM

Hello, I've been reading a bit about it because I'm a big fan of the loading speed, so those are methods than I learnt across my journey.
Use Static Files
Generating a dynamic page takes more time than rendering a static file, in example in the entries of a blog the data of it is static, however, the ads are not. If you're using WordPress you can use Really Static in order to achieve this, if you're running another CMS or application you must code/configure a static page system by your own.
CloudFlare
It gives you a basic DDoS protection and also it caches your assets, which makes your page loads way faster and decreases your bandwidth transfer.
Squash Images
The popular images editors are not that good when it comes to compress the images, so they usually add unnecessary extra KB's on those, but don't worry, if you're using a Mac you can use https://imageoptim.com/ and if you're running Windows you should give a try to http://nikkhokkho.sourceforge.net/static...eOptimizer
Use small glyph icon libs
Simple, don't add glyphs that you're not going to use, it's pointless to add an entire library of glyphs when you're just going to use 2 or 3, it just adds unnecessary KB's to the page. But, don't worry, you can use http://fontello.com/ and select the glyphs that you want to use in order to save some time load.
That's it for the moment, if you know about a trick feel free to post it
